2019-2020 Rush

II today as well. Completed in mid July. Received the active consideration in mid-september. Submitted an update last week. Super excited to be interviewing!
Congrats! I was complete around the same time! Do you mind sharing your stats? (MCAT/GPA or just LM, whatever you're comfortable sharing)

Were they receptive to your update? I thought I read somewhere on here that they don't like pre-II updates, but I thought that was weird because they have a tab on the portal for that prior to an II.

when they sent out the "don't worry! you're still being reviewed for a possible interview" email, Rush said you could upload updates to your application.

How receptive is rush to ITA emails?
This is the first year they are accepting any pre-II updates. Last year was the first year they accepted updates period and it was for Post-II. The answer is we dont know, but I would be surprised if the answer is yes since they never have been. But always worth a try?

Any A's recently? Fridays are when decisions are supposed to be released from my understanding?

Any more tips for applicants interviewing here soon? Or anything M1s or applicants like about the school that might not be obvious from their website?

Be able to be concise - the 10 minute interview is a real time crunch so the problem becomes, how do you speak clearly and answer the question thoroughly and also stay on time. You probably will feel rushed (everyone in my cohort did) so be mentally prepared for that time crunch.

Other than that the day was so chill, so enjoy! Don’t be afraid to ask the students relevant questions, especially about their new-ish curriculum to make sure it’s a fit for you. 🙂

Wait, what new-ish curriculum?? Are you talking about the flipped classroom?

Weekly (neurotic) check-in 😉 Any A's in the house for the Oct 16th interviewees?

Just curious to know whether they're holding up to their 2 week turnaround times

Rush gives a decision within 2 weeks? I didn’t know.

Yeah decisions sent out every Friday 2 weeks after the interview. They stated that during interview day and it also says that on their website (I love how transparent they are with their decision timeframe)

Looking back at previous posts, looks like 10/9 interviewees heard back on the 10/25. I interviewed on 10/23 so I'm expected to hear back on 11/8

Does anyone have updates on the current available interview dates?

What's the official consensus on Rush's receptiveness (or lack thereof) to pre-II updates this year? I keep hearing they are not receptive, but then I saw a message up-thread mentioning that this is the first year they are allowing updates.

I sent one in and got an II within a week FWIW

Thanks and congrats! What type of information did you include?

PMed you!

Edit: happy to answer this to anyone else in private conv if it is of any use to you in this cycle! Just prefer to keep the details of my app more private.

I would love to know! Considering sending an update to Rush as well. Thank you in advance!

I have already sent an update letter but does anyone know their policy on additional letters of rec? I wanted to send some more letters to show my continued interest

I would love to know as well. I sent an update last week and still silence. Thanks!

Hey everyone! Congrats to those accepted and hang in there for everyone waiting! I am interviewing here soon and was wondering if anyone that interviewed this year has any tips or good things to know prior to going in. I read the whole thread for this info, just looking for what I can.

Thanks!

Ive said this before somewhere but I’m gonna summarize real quick :

1- Be able to be concise, especially with the 10 min interview. It really just felt rushed given the short time limit
2- obviously go over generic interview questions, but also it’s very conversational. Don’t be afraid to smile and have fun with it!
3- Don’t worry too much about the group activity. It really just is super fun and focus on contributing but not being overbearing.

Thank you! That's helpful
