Has anyone sent a secondary request here? I am low stats and OOS tech (though hs and parents in CA), I was hoping they would look at me manually after they did a low stats screen but idk if they are still sending out secondaries. I was AMCAS verified early July.

They're still sending out secondaries. I'm not sure about a secondary request, though. The worst case scenario is that you call, but they still don't send you one.

when did you send your primary?
Mid June. That's part of why I hesitate to send the secondary since clearly I only qualified to receive it on a second glance since lots of people who submitted after got it sooner. Probably going to submit anyway since it looks like very little work.

Not sure what to think about it but I received my secondary application yesterday...

No one kill me for this, but people get way too gassed up about the UCSF secondary. As someone said on here, generally receiving one means you have business applying here.

That being said, it’s obviously good to receive it. I’m sure they see something in you.Just put your best foot forward and hope for the best.

Complete, 7/26, complete silence since then. I've read some say that it might be a good sign with large volume of R's sent out for ppl complete in July. Would that be true? (obviously hoping it's true lol) Any thoughts? Anyone else in my shoes?

Man, this waiting game is not easy lol. Congrats to all the people who got II's !

Ouch haha

Well they were sending rejections to people complete on 7/23, then 7/24 the next day, and then 7/25. So it looks like they stopped for the week. So the fact that you haven't heard anything doesn't mean anything, as far as someone could tell from this thread.

I didn't realize they were going down the timeline like that. Good point haha.. Considering the complete dates for those who got ii's are all over the calendar, I won't get my hopes up I guess haha. Thanks!

I took it as a sign that my app wasn't trash. As someone who's still waiting for IIs to roll in, that was pretty comforting. Whether this is true or not remains to be seen...

anyone interview yet? I'm interviewing soon and am wondering what other people think

Can any current students talk about housing? Do most people live in UCSF housing for the first 2 years and then live in nearby apartments? Do people commute for cheaper rent? Thanks in advance!

Has anyone received a secondary application weeks later after their primary application verification? They received my AMCAS application on August 15 and I have still not received their secondary. I have applied to almost 30 schools and this one is the only one I have not received one and it is one of my top choices. Did anyone have a similar experience where they received their secondary much later?

I received a secondary almost two months after sending in my primary! Don't lose hope

+1 looking to talk to current students before interviewing!

You hear back yet?

If I just received a secondary from them today, is it too late to send it in? I submitted my primary in early August

Nothing yet. My LM (74) is not on the very high side but it is pretty decent so I am not sure what criteria they are using for sending out secondaries. I received secondaries from every other school I applied.

Well, it hasn't been 2 months yet. I'll call it quits by the end of October.

They apparently do a holistic review before sending out secondaries. It takes them quite a while.

Doesn't seem like many people who were verified my week (8/13) have gotten a secondary yet, with the exception of @hikeNE123, who got his quite fast.
That could be. I really don’t know how/when they decide to send them. I sent my primary to them on July 30, and got my secondary earlier this month. Many people have waited 2+ months. Don’t rule them out until you hear from them. Good luck!

~Watching the complete dates that are getting rejections get closer and closer to mine (8/2).~

Just doing my periodic check in..
Primary sent 7/30 *secondary* nowhere to be seen... #byeFelicia

i was verified 8/9 and received a secondary 9/20. LM ~70 URM. honestly shocked i received a secondary I submitted within two hours of receiving it lol
edit: OOS

Submitted my secondary 7/14 and haven't heard anything. I keep trying to remind myself that no news is good news. I am thankful for the success I have had so far this cycle, but some love from UCSF would be really nice.

I think you’re in my boat. Fingers crossed.
