Has anyone at all with a residency packet been verified? Based on my interactions with the verification office I get the impression that they're trying their best to weed out as many applicants as possible lol. Maybe I'm just salty cause I might not even get to apply to my top choice (alongside WSU) despite being a legal resident for several years.

What makes you think they are trying to weed people out? This is ridiculous...

I heard back later this week and just like the others who reported that on here, they needed more info ha ha

I was only half joking, but just find it odd that they're only now requiring this process for the same legal requirement that WSU has introduced it. And I had no issues with WSU with far less documentation.

Apparently it was some state-issued mandate that was introduced this past year. If you look at the actual legal document (forgot the title) that you have to fill out and submit alongside the Residency Packet, it had essentially the same requirements that WSU also asked for. So I assume both schools are using information you provide to fill out and submit that same document to the state. So I just find it frustrating that the information I supplied to WSU was sufficient, but apparently not for UW despite them filling out the same form.

I promised myself I would stop checking this thread. Now comes the weekend full of needless, neurotic stress wondering why I didn't get an II yet :nailbiting:

I didn’t even have to provide any documentation to WSU. It is strange.

Which means anyone in the Reserves or Guard are put through the verification process for state residency, even if you have been a resident for your entire life. /not bitter haha!

That's true; definitely found it pretty excessive to ask going back five years. It's just strange that, legally, a student is considered in-state for tuition and admission purposes when they have been in the state for 1 year prior to matriculation, yet they ask all these questions going back several years.

Question for you - the essential requirements section of our secondary asked us to certify that we agreed to the following:

I understand that UW School of Medicine is a regional medical school. I understand I will complete a minimum of 24 week of clerkships outside of Seattle and are required to complete a minimum of 8 weeks of clerkships at one or more of the following Seattle hospitals: University of Washington Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, Veteran’s Administration Medical Center, Children’s Hospital Regional Medical Center

Is the 24 weeks/6 months of clerkships outside of Seattle no longer in effect?

Oh weird!! My apologies. For my class it was 12 weeks but they might have changed it for the incoming class. I hadn’t heard that-something to ask about on your interview day for sure
 
II here today as well, I saw that we get scheduling info in 3-4 weeks but the email also states interviews start October 3rd. Can we actually schedule our day at least right now? Am I missing something? Or is that another email?

Does anyone know if UW is receptive to ITA emails/updates? Got an II already
 
lol so I got a call from a Seattle number today thinking it was the school lol. So, immediately my heart started racing, but when I picked up it was a scam call :/ my poor heart lol

Not sure about ITA emails, but UW definitely does not accept updates. Why would you need to submit an ITA email if you've already received an II from them?

I don't live in the Seattle area currently and I'm planning on coming back for a week so it would be nice if the interview aligned with my schedule
 
I finally heard back about the additional documentation they need for residency verification. This is the stack I sent in...
If I don't get verified this time around I might die.

Just curious, what type of info did they want clarification on? I completely understand if you'd prefer not to answer.

In my case it was clarification on tuition payments, and I'm also in a unique situation where I've been dependent in 2018 but independent in 2019. I guess the complication is that they either expected you to be dependent for 2018 till now, or independent throughout that same period. So they told me that they *might* be able to grant me "preliminary approval" if I proceed with a financially independent app, but even if accepted to the school I would then need to provide further documentation proving my independence throughout the rest of 2019 and first half of 2020 (lol).

Honestly I'm in a similar situation. Taxwise I'm independent but by their standards I'm a dependent. I initially sent in the independent questionnaire so now I'm basically sending in the documentation for both statuses.

Yikes. I can't believe they are putting people through that. Literally all I had to do was send my high school transcript and that was it.

Honestly, with how stringent they've been with the screening so far, I expect that WWAMI residents who are able to apply to UW this year will have the best odds applicants have had in years lol

It is totally state specific. Your state WWAMI admissions office can probably answer if you send them an email. Wyoming just has one week of interviews in January.
 
North Idaho here (not the same as above). Got II on the same date. So far it's the only II - a bit nerve racking.

But has anybody who got II got a scheduling email yet? Supposedly interviews start Oct 3 and we are supposed to get 3-4 weeks notice to schedule.
 
When were you complete for you guys who got the scheduling email?
 
I received complete email on 8/2. Invitation for interview on 9/6. Scheduling today on 9/13. MD program, Seattle campus.
