How long did it take after you guys completed the Casper test to show up as completed on the application? Thanks!

For OOR people who submitted mission statement, when did you hear back about getting a secondary/R? Anyone who submitted in mid-August hear back yet?

I took and completed my CASPer test in early June, but it didn't show up as "Complete" on the UW portal page until a week or so after I submitted the secondary. If you look back at some of the earlier pages, you can see us being needlessly neurotic about it 🙂

I completed my mission statement either late July or early August I think and got a secondary August 17th

Anyone who submitted the residency verification packet (like, legit residents with a hoop to jump through) hear back about confirmed yet?

Did anyone else apply to CUSP? This is the first year that the application was included in the secondary. I'm wondering if they will separately evaluate CUSP applicants like TRUST.

I've just been back and forth with them a few times when they've requested more documents. I received my second email asking for more documents last week, so they're doing stuff up there. Just no decisions yet. However, the email did say that once they had all the info they'd give decisions within 1-2 weeks, so I guess we have a little bit of a timeframe.

I guess that works...I sent mine in August 19th and haven’t had them ask for any more documents so....Who knows...?

Yeah who knows. I sent my original packet like August 5th or 6th, so I don’t know if they are going chronologically, or if they are just waiting to approve all of them at once. Who knows..

For in state, how do I know if I will have to send in verification paperwork? How soon after completing secondary were they asking for it?

Anybody else receive II on 9/6 but not scheduling email yet? Its been 2 weeks...

Edit: just received. 3 days open in early October.

II, LM 74, completed 8/13. Still feel weird that I have not received the residency verification packet considering I was born and lived oversea for 18 years.

II and complete end of august! Is there any way people who already got the scheduling email can share what dates are available? Is it the entire calendar, or only a few options, etc.

Right now Oct 4, 8, and 9 are open. But that may change by time you get your scheduling email--it took two weeks to get mine.

Congrats all! 🙂

Secondary compete 8/9 and still no word after the stated 4-6 week review period...this incoming R is going to hurt bad considering UW is my alma mater. Tons of service with underserved 🙁

I have faith that you'll get an interview, since you have 5 other MD interviews. I don't think UW is stingy with their interview invitations. The hardest part is getting past the interview haha.

Definitely still too early to be thinking along those lines! I think last year it was at least 8 or 9 weeks after I was complete when I got II here.

Is this also true for OOR interviewees?

Thanks for the encouragement! 🙂 I hope I didn’t sound ungrateful or snobby. I’m very grateful and pleasantly surprised at how successful my cycle has been early considering my stats. Even then, it’s hard not to be neurotic about my alma mater!

That’s good to know, thanks! Just trying to treat UW like any other medical school. Obviously with it being the hometown school, it holds significant weight.

Safe to say thats generally true for every school.
Really? I thought For most schools they invite 10-20% of applicants to interview and post-II acceptance is like 30-50

No, for OOR applicants UW is VERY limited. Less than a 1.3% interview rate and less than a 0.7% OOR acceptance rate.

For UW, the hard part for OOR is getting the secondary.
I’m aware! (Thanks to this thread)

I was referring to the poster who said for most schools, including UW, that the hardest part is getting past the interview which I took to mean post-II acceptance

I think they may have meant getting at II? Yah, otherwise that is wrong. Only a few schools have post-II acceptance of less than 30%

What is the mission statement that everyone is talking about? I’m a WWAMI applicant, so I’m guessing that maybe we went through a slightly different secondary / had different questions?

OOR applicants get a mission statement request before a secondary. It is like a 95% filter where the vast majority of OOR applicants don’t even get a secondary. Basically, they have to justify why they are a UW match.

OOR applicants are asked to submit a short "pre-secondary" response to how they fit UWSOM's mission. From there, UW decides whether to offer the standard secondary. Does not apply to WWAMI people 🙂

Thank God because I was all like, “Hey! I’m on a mission, too! Where’s my mission statement!?” lol

Anyone have verified info on post-II A for OOR? I'm seeing on the USNews data spreadsheet that it's over 91% but that can't possibly be right, right? someone let me down gently...

It's historically been around ~35-50% (EY 2018 was ~50%, most previous years were around 40%)
