I got the acceptance letter about an hour ago but haven't gotten a call yet. Did this happen to anyone? I really hope this is not a glitch

Does anyone know if they’re still making calls/sending emails for the first set of decisions? I interviewed in early September and haven’t heard anything.

I am pretty sure they just make calls on Thursday and Friday of each week. And then there is an email that goes out for all the As and Rs by the end of the day on Friday. If you don't hear anything I think your application just goes to the next week and it is reviewed again. At least thats how I understood the acceptance process when they explained it on interview day.

Yeah that makes sense. Thanks!

UAB shared this earlier: "Just a quick reminder: Interviewees who haven't heard from us are still under consideration. After all interviews are complete for the year, we will create a waitlist with two tiers and inform you of your tier (by early April)."

Anyone else get an MD/PhD II and then a follow-up email saying "Oops that was a mistake, please disregard." Talk about a buzzkill!

Dope! You mind sharing your time line of when you submitted secondary - > interview invite -> interview? I'm IS too just waiting for an interview invite now lol.

Gotta be the best interview date of the year tbh. Oct 8 interview, they were finished reviewing up to October 1st, and there was an adcom on the 22nd. Beautiful and super happy for you!

around what time have the big A or R emails come out?
The admissions committee meets about once a month (check @UABMedAdmission twitter for updates) on a Thursday. If you are rejected you will get an email. If you are accepted you will get a call (plus an email about 24hrs later). They will generally start calling people that Thursday afternoon if you are lucky, but most calls are made on Friday. Calls are made even after business hours, so really it can happen at anytime. Also, if you don't get a call, don't worry! As long as you don't get a rejection, you are absolutely still on their radar.

No interview yet for me, but just curious. Did everyone get sent the virtual preview day invitation or is this a good sign of something to come?

Hi. No II for me yet either, but I got the email too. Will be nice to finally "meet" some of y'all!

I didn't receive this invitation, so it is likely something good!
I did too, Not to burst a bubble, but I feel like every applicant to UAB probably received it. Also it had the option to select cycles that aren't this year, so people not even applying probably got it too. (Correct me if I"m wrong) But other schools have done the same thing, It's just their target audience for events like that are people currently applying. Would be willing to bet it has no significance other than you submitted a primary to UAB.

Then I'm really curious why I didn't receive the email...weird.

Interesting, maybe I'm wrong, Still doubt it has any significance since its not directly correlated with an interview or anything and wasn't exclusive to this application cycle. But would love for it to be a good sign, getting so antsy about hearing from UAB (am OOS though) but have received other emails like that from other schools and they were definitely mass emails.

Received my pre-II R today as well. I knew UAB was a longshot, so I am not overly surprised. Complete 8/30, OOS (FL), 3.72 cGPA (strong upward), 3.68 sGPA (strong upward), 505 MCAT, Good EC's. Good luck everyone!
