This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Nothing so far, sadly. Maybe they’re sending out secondaries in batches or something? Tuesday marks two weeks since their email, so hoping to receive something by then.
Just got 8 emails!
Joining in with the same, got that "primary under review" email on 8/25 and nothing else! Hopefully they get back to us soon ㅠㅠ

How are my similar date #WaitGang homies on here doing? I still have not heard anything since my complete date on 9/24 but wanted to check in.

Anyone else on similar boat, jump in homies!

Congrats to all of you admitted! As an IS, it def gives me hope!

Do they review coursework before taking a look at the rest of our app?
Got an email regarding my coursework pre reqs and was thinking if it means anything else 🤐

I actually emailed them about the complete email and they said they don’t normally send a complete email once your secondary is submitted. So don’t worry!

No problem! If you’re really worried I’m sure you could email them, they were so nice and responded within 15 minutes saying they double checked my application.

Complete 9/30 and I haven't heard anything yet!

To those who have attended VAVD and gotten the link to your "personalized portal": If you go under events, there is an info session. What is this and is it something we need to do/worry about?

Yeah I saw that too, I have no idea what that’s referring to

Congratulations to everyone receiving acceptance calls! The feeling of that first A is amazing.

For those accepted, how did you all feel about your VITA performance? I took it last night and felt like I really underperformed in comparison to my synchronous interviews at other programs. I'm truly grateful for my single A but would also love to attend UA PHX, so someone please comfort me and tell me everything will be ok LOL. Feeling iffy since VITA is the sole component of their interview.

I'm wondering the same thing! I definitely felt like VITA went more poorly than my synchronous interviews so you are not alone there haha. I'm curious if we need a stellar VITA to get accepted here

I didn't love my VITA performance; I felt that I rambled, rushed my explanations at times, and had trouble wrapping up my thoughts in just a few short minutes. It is a bit nerve wracking that VITA is the only interview component, but I think if you have already been accepted, then you probably did fairly well no matter what you might expect. I think it is important to remember that asynchronous interviews are uniquely challenging, since many of us have very little practice with them and need body language/queues from interviewers. I would imagine most people struggle, even if they say otherwise. Hang in there!

Has anyone received a rejection or WL?
They don’t waitlist until the end of the cycle here - if they’re still considering you but weren’t ready to accept you, they send you a deferral notification and you get an update on your application every 2 weeks. On Oct 19 I got my deferral email at 3:30, so I’m guessing they’ll send them out (along with rejections) around the same time today.

Does anybody know what usually happens to candidates who receive this email?
It's the same thing as not getting any news. You were good enough to not be rejected but not good enough to get an acceptance right now. They will likely keep interviewing and then decide to accept, waitlist, or reject based on the rest of the applicants. You might hear back in two weeks, but I'm betting it will be closer to the end of the interview cycle.

I just remembered Dr. Fogerty mentioning a "confidentiality/non-disclosure agreement" at the close of my VAVD. Can anyone speak to whether there was an actual agreement document that we needed to complete or was this included in the terms of agreement with our secondary application? I have searched all of my email communications from Phoenix regarding this "confidentiality agreement" but I have not found anything. Any information would be appreciated! Thank you

What is VAVD? I keep seeing this abbreviation but I'm unsure what it means.

Is anyone not being let into the VAVD? I'm in TX so it should start now my time, but I've been waiting for the meeting host to let me in for 15 minutes.

Based off of this thread and my own personal experience, it takes almost exactly 2 months from your secondary completion date to when you get an interview invite. Then you have your VAVD 2 weeks after that and then roughly 6 weeks after that is when you can first hear back with a final decision.

Everything is correct, except for the bolded part. As someone who was on that list for a longer period personally, I know MANY people who were accepted off that list within months and even weeks. Obviously, it is best to not bank on it, but if you are on that list, you do have a real shot, and while there is a lot of movement on it towards the end of the cycle, from what I have seen, there is still substantial movement early on in the cycle.

He just mentioned this at the end of my VAVD today and he mentioned VITA when he was talking about it so I believe he was referring to the confidentiality agreement we had to agree to when we completed VITA that we would keep the questions confidential

As of today, IS applicants are up 13.4% over last year's total.

According to MSAR, this school interviewed 180/779 (23.1%) of IS applicants. Assuming that is true for this year as well, the school has given out 38.4% of the total number of IS II it will send.

Last year, 184 applicants were accepted and 55% of matriculants were IS. Assuming 55% of the acceptees were IS, the school has selected just 8.9% of the IS applicants who will be getting accepted this cycle.

For at least this school, it is still early in the cycle. Don't fret if you do not yet have an II or A!
