2020-2021 Hofstra (Zucker)

For those wondering, I am seeing that interview slots have been filled up to 1/27/21.

I apologize if this has been asked before, but has anyone ever "reset" their interview date to see if there is an earlier date you can reschedule to?

Yo that's my birthday so if anyone wants to get me a bomb bday present and just give me their II that would be much appreciated

Hey. Sorry to ask again, but can someone clarify for me if we have 2 weeks to submit the VITA from the moment of getting the HireVue link emailed to us? And how soon after you submit the Vita do you get the II?

I received my vita invita a week ago but have not been able to do it 🙁 but will be doing it this weekend. I should be ok right?

You have 2 weeks from the day you received the HireVue link! I completed mine 1.5 weeks after, and hours later, received an II from Hofstra. Pretty sure VITA = II, unless someone was working on Sunday at like 9pm lmao

It should be a day after you complete the vita that you get the invitation to interview live. I already had mine done before. So I got the invitation to do the VITA yesterday and then another separate invitation to do the live thing today.
You should do the VITA sooner rather than later because the interview slots are getting taken. I was looking to take the 1/27 PM today, but I delayed for half a day. I came back and saw that it was gone, so I took the AM interview slot.

You should do it ASAP. You can see from this thread the dates are far into 2021 already. If another II wave happens before you finish it, you may be pushed even further back in time which is a disadvantage in rolling admissions.

Yes will do. Thanks!

Ya I thought they were hinting at me to just withdraw at this point LMAO
"dear applicant,

honestly just put yourself out of your misery while you can. there is no way we are giving your ass an interview LOL. even if we did, you think you would get in afterwards? LMFAO. just learn to read between the lines and withdraw your laughable application this moment.

"We hope that you are doing well and thank you for applying to the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. This serves as a reminder that if you are no longer interested in pursuing admission with us to select the Withdraw option within the https://apply.medicine.hofstra.edu admissions portal in order to withdraw your application.

If you remain interested, however, no further action is needed and you will hear from us regarding an interview invitation decision between now and the end of February."

Yea it is but it was just super odd for them to start the email by mentioning the option to withdraw LOL
im hoping to spin it into a positive. like, they wouldnt want to offer an interview to someone who doesnt have interest anymore, right? so they make sure you are interested by giving you this reminder first? LOL idk

Judging from last year's thread, Hofstra enjoys sending these things to try and get applicants to self select a bit. There were multiple emails last year for folks on the waitlist asking them about continued interest. Probably this email acts like that one too and helps cut down on app reading work for the admissions committee a bit as we're at the point in the cycle where some who apply to Hofstra (since they tend to like high stat apps) may have IIs elsewhere or A's that they'd prefer.

Complete late July, just got the email. Looks like everyone who hasn't heard back yet will probably receive it, they seem to be just sending it out in waves.
Same here, was complete late July as well and I think at this point I'm going to take it as a soft R personally.

I got that email and I was complete mid October.

I am not taking this as a soft R. I think that they are just worried high stat applicants are gonna choose other schools over them.

For people who are confused/haven't gotten the email yet,
