II at 10:52 PM ET! Complete some time in July.

Already have acceptances, so I hope my seat goes to one of you! 😉
hey! do you mind sharing how far out they're scheduling interviews for? and also, how long ago was it that you got the review complete email before the II? thanks!

I don't know how far out they're scheduling interviews because I didn't even login to see the portal to schedule a date. When I got the invite email, I knew I would decline.

I received the "complete" email August 12th and got the II a couple days ago, so it was a ~4 month delay. It's different for everyone, though. 🤷‍♂️

Y’all omg I attempted to log into my account and it said “the application I’m trying to reach is not available at this time” lol all I can do is laugh because deep down I’m freaked out lol

it's definitely a system issue I have that error too. DW about it 🙂

Ok I freaked myself out because I looked on facebook and there's a page for admitted students for HUCM CO'2025. There's already 50 something people in there! I haven't heard anything back from them and my secondary app was completed 9/14. I fell in love with HU after I was a medical scholar of SHPEP there and am feeling super discouraged...

I got freaked out too but it’s only a little less than halfway completed! Plus some might drop out for any reason. What’s meant for you will come!!! Stay positive ❤️

Well, one more spot at the very least will be opening up: I'm bowin' out of Howard's process and returning my class spot. Keep working hard ya'll, alot of cycle left to go!

All the best everyone, good luck!

I’m sorry if this is too personal but may I ask your reasoning behind your decision?

“Howard University College of Medicine and the entire University will be closed for the Winter Break starting Wednesday, December 16, 2020, and will reopen on Monday, January 4, 2021. Full campus closure provides an opportunity for our students, faculty and staff to get a well-deserved break for the holiday season, but also allows for us to conduct renovations/repairs and complete intense cleaning and sanitizing of our facilities.

well deserved?

Just some hope for everyone worried about not getting an II yet. I know two people who didn’t get invited until the end of January last cycle who both interviewed at the end of February and are now both students at HUCM. Don’t be discouraged, there’s still a lot of time! Happy Holidays!

Accepted about an hour ago via email. Interviewed on 11/17.

Edit: Is the completion of the "PARP" program required by everyone who is accepted? This begins May 17th.
Not sure what that is. I wasn’t told about it.

At my interview when they explained it seems to be for people who get accepted and haven’t been in school for awhile to make sure everyone is on an equal playing field when they start.

Got it, thank you! I have been out of undergrad for a while but recently finished a post-bacc in 2019, so this makes sense. This must be unique to Howard because I don't think other schools require this.

congrats. they sent this one out before they went on their ''well deserved'' two weeks break.

Thanks! I never got this email though. What did it say regarding the "PARP" program if you don't mind? And is this unique to only Howard?

See! I knew it was coming. Congrats, my friend.

I realize this might be a dumb question but how does one send updates to Howard? I've completed an Organic Chemistry course since submitting my application. I wanted to update the school but I am a first time applicant so I am really not sure how to go about that. Can anyone help a struggling applicant out please?

You can email the admissions director a screenshot of your unofficial transcript. Not sure if Howard takes app updates tho

Is there anyone else on this thread that was conditionally accepted, having to first participate in the "PARP" program? Want to see if I am the only one with this type of acceptance and if the other As that went out were purely acceptances and not conditional acceptances based on completion of PARP.

Would you accept or just go to a school that doesn't require a pre-matriculation program?

What is the PARP program if you don’t mind me asking?

Depends how bad you want to go to Howard. If you want to enjoy your summer before medical school starts without worrying about classes or this program, go with another school. If you really want to go Howard and/or see yourself benefiting from the program, then sure. They probably think you could benefit from the program given that medical school is fast-paced. The program would help you get in the mindset of medical school coursework. You have 8 IIs and 2 other acceptances so you will probably have plenty of options by the time April/May rolls around.

Thank you for your input. And I think Howard is great and I could benefit from this program. It's just that I can't justify turning down pure acceptances from other schools where I will forsure be starting in the fall vs. Howard saying I might be able to start in the fall.
