2020-2021 Morehouse

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
For those accepted, do you know if we'll get an official letter? I saw my notification in the portal but it went away after I accepted my offer. I was wondering if maybe they'd email us a copy of our acceptance letter. It would be nice to have a pdf letter to keep.
I am curious about this also. It would be nice if we could get an official acceptance letter.

Some of y'all need to get a life outside application. When I applied to med school, I never worried about interviews until they hit. You have to find a way to take your mind off the application cycle. Goodluck!
You said all that, yet you’re here worried about applicants in a cycle that doesn’t involve you. Shouldn’t you be studying for MD final exams? What are *you* doing here with the “life” you have?

Well, pre-II rejection today. I'm pretty disappointed, especially since some lower stat applicants at least got interviews. I thought my stats and interests and everything were pretty competitive for Morehouse...they along with Meharry were my top picks so hoping for the best with the rest of the cycle. I guess the wondering is done at least.

cGPA: 3.53 sGPA: 3.2 MCAT: 502 research experience, medical scribing, tons of leadership experience, lab TA experience, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, etc
damn friend, sorry to hear. I have a feeling mine is coming up next. We really are just dodging that R bullet and you can only dodge for so long lol

We will see. At least according to MSAR, Howard has higher minimum requirements than Morehouse but we shall see what the rest of this cycle holds. Thanks for the encouragement!

For the VITA invitation, I just wanted to make sure that if I've already done VITA for a different school there would be nothing I'd have to do for this one right?

right, you only do the VITA once. You could send a quick note to Morehouse to tell them you have already done the VITA, then they will know they can go ahead and schedule your interview etc.

I sincerely apologize to everyone who found my message to be offensive. I didn't mean it like that. All I wanted to say is that y'all should find lives outside this med school journey as much as you can. You need it to avoid losing your mind. As @inbaltimowahhavingbigFUN said I have my MD finals and miniboard coming up and actually grinding. Sending good vibes to you all and most important thing is to believe in yourself. Peace!

Understood, good luck on your exams!

wait, do you have an offer letter?
Yes, I was accepted on 11/16. I saw the notification in the portal and was able to accept it and pay my fee, however, at other schools I've been accepted to I received like an official PDF copy of my acceptance letter. Usually they're present in the school's secondary portal but since Morehouse uses the AAMC portal I was wondering if they would email us an official PDF acceptance letter. I'm super sentimental so it would be nice to know if Morehouse sends PDF acceptance letters.

I hope I explained that clearly lol

Lol....you did.
Don't worry, as long as you accepted and paid, you are fine.

I'm not worried about being fine lol. I'm just very sentimental and would like a PDF copy of my acceptance letter to keep as a memory.
From the previous threads, it looks like they don’t send a pdf copy like other schools. You could save the acceptance on the portal as pdf if that helps.

Does morehouse accept update letters? If so, do you guys know who we can send one to?

Congrats people! Still waiting on an A/R/WL , interviewed on 11/6

somebody correct me if I'm wrong but since they're a private school they don't look at IS and OOS
I’d assume that’s wrong since on MSAR, roughly 1/2 of accepted students are IS and 1/2 are out of state. Looking at the interview numbers on there, I’d assume it does matter.

Sent my secondary in on 9/17 and still no response. Remaining hopeful though because I saw that someone just got an II and they submitted in August. The waiting game makes everything 10x worse!
