Has anyone OOS gotten a post-II rejection, waitlist, or acceptance recently?

What’s their average gpa and Mcat score for admission? I saw in 2019 Mcat was 508 but 2020 is 512!?!

what if ur overall gpa is say 3.4 but Ur post bacc was 3.9 then what? Do they mainly care about overall gpa or do they factor postbacc gpa separately? Bc LizzyM score doesn’t factor post bacc or smp.

And are scholarships for highly Mcat gpa people or also people that are poor too.
That's a lot of questions...

According to MSAR, the median accepted GPA is 3.87 (cumulative) and 3.83 (science). The median MCAT is 512.

I can't speak exactly on how this school factors in SMP GPA, but your overall GPA is very important. They will look to see if you have an upward trend (like a 3.9 in a post-bacc), so that would be a good thing. However, it won't guarantee admission or anything.

From what I can read, most scholarships are merit-based. Considering that tuition is already extremely cheap, they likely don't offer too much in the way of need-based aid.

msar but ttuhsc says for 2019 is 508

I think you are looking at two different numbers. While the median (not the same as average) MCAT for admitted/accepted students is 512, the median MCAT for matriculated students (the population that actually became students) was 508 for the most recent data in MSAR. TTUHSC is likely reporting statistic for matriculating students (508) where you were initially seeing stat for all admitted students (512).

It's common for the matriculated student stats to be a few points lower than the stats for the entire admitted students pool.

"According to US News and World Report Compass, they had 3,541 applications, 1,032 interviews, 411 acceptances, and 180 matriculants last year."

Is this accurate?
The source for this is linked below.

MSAR says they had 4,882 applications, 1,031 interviews, and 180 matriculants. (MSAR does not provide acceptance numbers.)

The difference in the total number of applications might be attributable to differences in which cycle is being referred to or by US News only counting secondary applications. According to US News their "Data appear as originally submitted by this school."

How accurate is this list? It shows In State for Lubbock acceptances post interview is 41.29%. How does this compare to MSAR and what TMDSAS reports for instate admission percents?
MSAR doesn't report admissions statistics (only applications, interviews, and matriculants). To my knowledge, TMDSAS only reports state-wide matriculation values, so neither of these two comparisons are possible.

The number you are seeing is derived from US News and World Report, which I have compared to the values reported from several other schools' websites and found to be accurate from them. Texas-Tech doesn't directly report data, so there is no way to know for certain, but I do find that US News is reliable for everything that I have been able to compare it to.

I'm an OOS applicant that hasn't heard back yet, so I decided to do a little digging into last year's thread. I found a total of 8 OOS applicants who posted that they got interviews. The earliest I saw was someone who got an II on 8/20 for a 9/11 interview. They were waitlisted on 3/6 and eventually accepted on 5/6. In total, I found two OOS that got accepted on 10/15 and 11/6. Then, 5 OOS applicants were waitlisted on 3/6. Four of those five were eventually accepted off the waitlist between 5/6 and 5/11. This is obviously a small sample size, but it does go to show that there is still hope for us OOS!

How many of y'all are sending or have sent a letter of interest? I'm thinking of going this because I'm neurotic af

So 411 accepted - 180 matriculants = 231 decided not to go because they got in elsewhere?

Isn't that hard to believe? It seems inaccurate.
This is pretty typical across Med schools. TX applicants also commonly get several interviews so they can only attend 1 school. Some of those offers may also be to people on WLs, and a student may have a spot and decide not to take the WL offer. Offers made to people with no Match generally get accepted.

It really doesn't sound inaccurate to me. Since the Texas schools all have to accept at least 90% of their students in Texas, that means every school is competing for the same highly qualified Texas candidates. The most qualified WILL get multiple offers, either through prematches, off the Match list, or off the waitlists after match day.

Congrats!! May I ask when you interviewed?
Oh, that wasn't mine. I did get a prematch, but I interviewed October 8th and got my prematch October 15th. That person who got a prematch interviewed January 8th, I think?

Did you send a letter of intent to Lubbock? Or letter to the evaluators?
Now I'm really confusing people. Oh dear. That was at Foster. I had a friendly bet with someone here that at least one school would send out one more round of prematches before the end of the month. Foster did. For Lubbock, I interviewed January 8th and am very curious whether they will send out any prematches for that day this week.

Do you prefer Paso or Lubbock? And for Paso did you do any LOI for them? I wonder how important that is.
No LOI for anyone at this point. I've agonized about which Tech campus fits me better but I think I'm going with El Paso. I like their emphasis on border health and it's a more progressive town/ campus.

I called today and they said they are done with prematches at the end of January, but that there might not even be another batch sent out. Also, I asked if they accept LOI and they said yes. I plan on sending one because YOLO
So basically we still don’t know if prematches might be given out this Thursday? They’re keeping us on our toes, I like it

I called admissions and asked about the emails and prematch.
They said that the emails were sent out to folks who have interviewed (however, people on this forum say otherwise) and it's just a way to prepare students or keep them ready about those important vaccines and the account sign up.
These emails do not mean ANYTHING!

Regarding pre-matches they said that they will be sending them out but they have to go through with today's interview session since it is the last one. I do not know when they intend to send the prematches but obviously, within the next 3 days, we should know.

They WILL be sending them out??? Dang.

Just when I thought I was out...they pull me back in!!

Can you call and ask them if they plan on accepting me?

You just gotta call them and tell them that you accept their offer of admission. They won't remember accepting you and won't able to find it, but they will be so embarrassed that they lost it that they just make up some paperwork and add you in the system. Then, you'll be accepted.
