2020-2021 Toledo

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Same, hoping to hear back soon. A close friend who interviewed in April said she heard back this week. Curious as to how they are rolling out acceptances/rejections/waitlists
@MDDreamin1234 I also interviewed that day 3/23 and I agree it is frustrating. It is hard to tell whether people have received acceptances or not from that week or later because some are on SDN and some aren't.

Just got an interview invitation today for tomorrow! can anyone tell me more about the interview day?
Awesome, congrats!!!!

On the portal there's a Zoom link. That's where they'll hold the intro session, and that link is also your "home base" throughout the day - if anything goes wrong, just go there, and they'll sort it out for you.

There are additional links for the actual interview portion, and they'll walk you through this in detail tomorrow. It's an MMI interview, so you'll go through 8 different stations, with a different interviewer/prompt at each. You get 2 minutes to read the prompt and I think 8 to answer. Don't try to just talk for 8 minutes straight; they have follow-up questions. You ARE allowed to take notes, so have a notepad or something handy! You'll get a 5 minute break between each session to re-center yourself. The way it's set up, each new station should automatically open up in Zoom, but if it doesn't work, you also have links you can click.

Don't worry if you have technical problems! They've built in extra time to accommodate for that and everyone is VERY nice! Don't stress out, it's very low-key. You got this!!!

Just had my interview yesterday. I’m usually pretty chill about things but I gotta say, had the worst interview. It was very well organized, but all the questions were odd balls and had nothing to do with medicine. It felt like a joke.

So, uh, noticed something weird in the portal. I was complete end of July last year, including having all my LORs in then. When I got the II from Toledo, I noticed in the portal that it said my LORs had been received by the admissions office in February - I just figured that's when they got around to actually looking at everying. I interviewed in April. I was obsessively checking the portal again today because why not and I noticed all my LORs now have a received date of yesterday. Does this maybe give any indication of where I'm at in the process, does anyone know?

Mine are mid-Feb, so I assume they haven't voted on me yet.
Mine are early February. I think this is reflective of when they initially reviewed your app, so nothing to worry about.

No that’s normal. Me and at least five others had their LORs with a February date. Whether that means that either was the date they completed their review of your app or when they opened them for the first time/any point is a different story.

Can anyone who's received a decision comment on this? Were the dates of your LORs and the dates of your decisions close to one another?

It's not the February date that's weird, it's that it was February and changed to yesterday...

Did anyone else get the email letting us know they're running behind on decisions? Also I saw that May 15th was the deadline to give a decision for people with multiple acceptances. Wouldn't we need to know by then? This was my only MD interview so I'm not as informed.

Oh jeez, there was another email last night? I didn't get that one. 🙁

Yeah it was just to let us know they were running behind and would let us know as soon as they had an answer. I interviewed last week of March so maybe it's for those who had there interviews around that time.

Does anyone know if accepted students have to do a drug test along with the other physical exams?

I interviewed the same week and didn't get an email. But good to know a reason.

+1 Yeah I got that email and I interviewed that last week of March as well.

Can anyone confirm that today was the last interview day here? Especially those who interviewed today and they were told this specifically
I interviewed today. Dr. Perry said 5/11/21 was very likely the last interview day, although they could decide to do one more because interviews are virtual. She mentioned they are happy with the current pool of candidates. Looks like they are aiming to get a batch of decisions out this Friday. 5/11 interviewees (and others who are still waiting) probably won't hear back until end of May.

Im just gonna take that as we're all being accepted so we'll be ok haha *laughs nervously*
