How extensive is the process if we get accepted? I assume background check, drug test, etc. Are a physical exam and blood titers also required?

When my friend was applying to dental school and told me that waiting was the most excruciating......it was an understatement. It has been a very harsh cycle for various reasons, but being able to come here for comfort has been a great feature. I am manifesting acceptances for all of us in the coming weeks and I really hope to work with you all in the future. Whatever the outcome, I hope you all have a wonderful day and rest of the week!

Do we know when Toledo wants to have their class completed? Will we all hear back by June 1?

Ugh having to decline quality gap year jobs waiting for Toledo hurtssss
Same. I’m on a waitlist at another school since November and haven’t heard anything from Toledo since secondary. At an interview they said they couldn’t commit to me if I can leave at a moments notice. I decided to not mind it and gear up the search in August if that helps.

The usual is a background, drug, immunization check. The one thing that most people end up needing is a hep B titer. but there should be plenty of time in July to do every thing.

I hope they have their acceptances out before that because their scholarships are due May 31st.

If we’ve done all of this stuff for another school already, will Toledo accept it? Or does it have to be done through a specific company/system that they’re affiliated with (the background and drug screens)?

I submitted my medical forms and titer results filled out in January for another medical school to Toledo and they accepted it. The background check is also quite straightforward

Any ideas on the upper limit on how long it could take? Would it be reasonable that we'd receive an answer by June 1st?
Scholarship deadline is May 31, and it sounds like there are a lot of people still awaiting decisions. I would think they'd send decisions by then - it wouldn't be fair to keep that many people from the chance to apply for scholarships. (Though, since they already pushed that scholarship deadline back once, I suppose they could do so again...but there has to be a limit where delaying would cause even more problems down the line, right?)

Their email from April 29 says they plan to start pulling from the waitlist by early June, which means they'd have to send out decisions by then. Though, that could have changed, too.
If not, assume the silence is actually an acceptance and everyone shows up?
Finally get that acceptance as you're walking the stage for graduation 🤣

Yeah this is taking really long. I don’t want to complain but how is it fair that all the people who interviewed since late March still haven’t heard back when they said they would send decisions in 2-4 weeks? I also agree that they should send all their acceptances except ones they take off waitlist later by May 31st to allow time to fill out the scholarship app.

I emailed and asked. What I was told is that they are predicting it will be another 2-3 weeks. I don’t know if that’s specific to me but I interviewed 4/16.

I emailed them on Monday for an update and just got a response. They said another 1-2 weeks to hand out decisions. I'm at my wits end because of this.

I got the same timeframe. I’m 8 weeks post interview and frustrated cause I just wanna figure out my plans.

Whyyyyyyyyy Toledo

Seriously, though, I'm also trying to get gap year stuff lined up, and I REALLY don't want to spend the $$$$ sending in a new applications. This is an...unfortunate...development. D:

Yeah it’s getting unfair at this point cause scholarships are due, others are reapplying, and others are sitting on other As/WLs

I emailed them again about the scholarship deadline and they said that the scholarship and financial aid committee is aware of the delay in getting decisions and have extended the deadlines with no end date at this time. If you are planning to apply for a scholarship you should plan to have the materials ready to go if you get accepted.

On the one hand, that's great. On the other hand, OMFG

+1 got the same response.

Judging from this thread, and what dates have received decisions, I would say they couldn't have sent out more than 200 decisions for the 450 they interviewed. Idk anyone/more than a few in late march or April who have heard back. At least we'll all be scrambling to find roommates and housing lol.
