I believe that was me but I did not say large lists, only that announcements were coming out regularly and some people were being admitted within two weeks.

One of my interviewers did read my file pretty thoroughly and asked specific questions about a couple of my experiences. I would definitely have a good grasp on all your activities in your file 🙂
 
OOS accepted here during the first wave. I got an email this morning saying that I am "encouraged" to accept my offer within two weeks. But I'm still waiting to hear back from other schools and don't want to make a final decision until April. Confused by the email instructions. Does "accepting" my offer of admission to UTSW mean I can't consider other schools?

You are allowed to accept and hold on to more than one offer until April, when you must narrow it down.

You should be accepting all offers from all medical schools. You start rejecting them when they are no longer under consideration because you will start narrowing down the list.

This is a different process than undergrad where you can only accept one. Medical schools will give your seat to someone else if you don't accept them when offered and revoke your admission.
 
Sounds like they interview weekly through the end of January, excluding holidays

There may also be some applicants who cancel their interviews, leaving earlier open spaces that could be filled.
As the interview season goes on, you may get only a few days notice. Be agile and ready to act!

From my email correspondence: The scores are required to be on file before an applicant’s interview date, but a missing score does not prevent an invitation to interview.
 
I haven't touched my portal in several days, but I just got a notification that someone requested to reset my password. I haven't done that in several weeks. Has this happened to anyone else?

I have only seen one day of offers so far, and that was on 10/16. I think they will do a more few interview days & then discuss those before sending out more acceptances .
 
Just a bit worrisome since we're moving to a point where there are no longer plenty of interview invites left at some schools... UTMB and UTSW are pretty deep in their interview date ranges. =/ Here's to hoping!

Last cycle, a friend was not called for interviews till after March. Is currently at a T20! Keep the faith.

Foster said they were planning to have some February interviews. That doesn't mean they all will, of course, but it's possible there might be others.
 
I think last year’s thread had the 2nd batch go out at around the 2 week mark from the 1st batch
 
I submitted my secondary to UTSW on August 20th, exactly two weeks after receiving it. I haven't heard from them regarding an ii. LM 71.5 / MCAT 513 / cGPA: 3.95 / BCPM GPA: 3.90 / In-State Resident. Is there a reasonable chance that UTSW is within reach? How long does this school typically extend interview invites? I was thinking probably in November... and I have close connections with the school and its faculty. Starting to get a little worried since it's my dream school 🙁

It’s not all about numbers of course but your LM is very similar to mine (70.5, 514, 3.75 cGPA, 3.52 sGPA, IS, ties to school) and your gpa is obviously much better than mine and I received an II and A so I would say it’s definitely not out of reach at all for you!

Wow thank you so much for sharing your experience! That’s very reassuring to hear and congrats on the acceptance!! Do you mind me asking when you submitted your secondary and how long it took to receive an ii?

Wow, you must be an incredible applicant to get accepted to UTSW this early without crazy high stats. Congrats!

Thank you! I submitted my secondary on 7/30 and I received an II around 8/16 or so, I interviewed 9/26 and was accepted 10/16

Thank you so much!! I’m super grateful and surprised by this process and I’ve tried to highlight non-academic aspects of my application which I guess has worked. I’m a big believer that stats shouldn’t define people through this process
 
Those who have already interviewed, is there a green check mark under "Status" or it there a grey square and a "Start Interview" option on the Web Interview page (portal)? There was a green checkmark for me but then it now changed to Grey with "Start interview" option Idk what this means but im scared

One of mine is checkmarked, one is grey last time I checked. I wouldn't worry, the interviewers have a sheet they wrote on about you that they will submit to the adcoms. The grey box or checkmark can be manipulated by them and doesn't mean anything.

In fact, some people had green checks before their interviews because the interviewer did a test run, then reset it to do the real thing. So it's just a computer error I'm guessingg

I received an II today as well but only showed dates for January. Highly doubt they will let us know if more spots open up earlier though. Probably will fill them with other applicants possibly if they were to open up.

Any current students at UTSW here who would mind sharing their honest impressions of the school? A lot of what I found online is kind of outdated (before STEP change and all the changes to the UTSW curriculum). I would love to hear your thoughts!
 
I have a question for those who have already interviewed. After being assigned your interview times and given the Zoom link for the main informational meetings, when did your video interview tab appear in the portal to access your interview? Thank you in advance!

I think the link was on the email with the interview times (like 2 days prior to the interview) and also appeared on the Web Interview page the same time .

Hm, that's odd! I received the email today that has my interview times and the general Zoom link, but I can't see the video interview tab in the portal atm.

Have you signed the form to access the video interviews. I think mine showed up 2 days before my interview date too via email and on the portal

Yes that might be what is needed. But even otherwise, you @smoothjazziness will get the links before the interview. No need to panic.
