Just got the R a few seconds ago...

I had a glimmer of hope that maybe I didn't get one because I was going to get an II later, but I guess not. I feel like this is the school I had the best shot at so while I haven't heard back from some schools, I doubt I'm getting any more good news this cycle.

Good luck to everyone else!

Got the rejection at 3:31 PST but I already got an interview at a school in Canada. I guess fate doesn't want me to go to America haha. Good luck to those still in the running.

i've heard Canadian schools are very competitive so congrats! That's so awesome 🙂

yes - although I'm not WL yet (interviewed early Jan) - but yeah they're not necessary based on what the adcom told me (sending an update versus not sending one isn't going to affect your WL position/decision).
Wait so is there nothing that can affect our WL position? As someone who was waitlisted a few days after my interview I was hoping a major update would show them I'm still interested in them. I assumed they might be waitlisting people they think may ultimately reject them...

honestly, from what that adcom member told me (they're someone who directly votes on the committee when making decisions) they said these updates don't sway decisions about WL positions at all - unfair advantage to one applicant versus another who may not have an update. But in yesterday's Warrior chat one of the admissions rep said they do read updates, so I guess it won't hurt to send them

When were you complete? Do you mind sharing your stats?

I know you have all probably heard this, but to all those who got pre II R’s, you all will make AMAZING physicians in the future. I’m sure we all know the feeling of getting R’s, and I wish there was more support and understanding for premeds during this process (especially during a pandemic), but we will ALL get where we need to be, regardless of where we end up. Keep your head up❤️

So have they sent all the II's or is there one more wave that's gonna go out since the tracker updated?

yeah doesnt the post II acceptance rate seem like it will be really low?

They told us at interviews that they are behind due to lag from the holiday season. I'm assuming tons of interviewers from December/Jan haven't gotten decisions yet which is why the acceptance number from the tracker is not accurate

I’m not sure completely, but a couple people said that all II have been sent out.
yeah i think the tracker prematurely updates. so those IIs still have to be sent out - the tracker says more IIs but those invitations still have to be emailed to applicants

it does and with more people interviewing rip those of us on the WL

Their overall post II A rate is about 50% which includes WL. Also in one of the talks, they were saying they Release 50% of As after April (so WL people for the most part). Also last year 300/600 WLers got As. I think the acceptances start off low, but get way more as cycle goes on.

oh damn, 50% of As after april?? well thats comforting i guess, still lots of time left

Lol they're already at 50%..

Is it the "You have completed your Interview..." emails? I got mine 12/21 and nothing since.
Yes that email. interviewed early January and it’s just telling me about warrior md chats with students

I don't think so. Last cycle, I remember the tracker having over 700 acceptances (around 770 I believe)? I think it will probably (and hopefully) reach at least 650-700 this year.
Good to know. Thanks!

not to be the debbie downer but aren't there roughly 500 more IIs too this cycle? So wouldn't it hypothetically be 300/1100?

Last year they sent 1443 IIs, and 1515 this year, so not a huge difference. However, only 1181 out of 1443 people actually did the interview, so it depends how many people do it this cycle, which might be more since it's online

Ohhhhhh, I see. Thanks for clarifying that.

Also, even though they are interviewing more people, I believe they said they are keeping the waitlist the same size and sending more post-II Rs than usual. So if you're on the waitlist, it should be roughly similar chances to previous years

so just more Post-II Rs?

has anyone gotten a post-II R this cycle? Also, do you remember what month it updated with the 700 acceptances?

Got the R too. Not sure if anyone noticed but the email says "All interview invites have been sent. We would welcome the opportunity to review your application in the future should you reapply." Does everyone's rejection say this?

editing to say I saw that this was posted by someone else ~30 min ago!
Mine didn’t lol

Anyone else in limbo no pre-II R but no interview as of now?
I got the email earlier today. They told me that all interview invites have been sent and that they cannot further review my application for that reason.
