Waitlisted for II a couple weeks ago and today emailed admissions inquiring about what waitlist tier I’m in. Was told Low Priority so RIP my chance at interviewing. I’m not surprised as I’m OOS with no ties other than experience and interest in rural medicine!

I am actually planning on writing to them to see which tier I am in, but I also worry about negative consequences e.g. adcom thinking I'm impatient. What would you think?

for anyone who got high or middle priority as an OOS, would u mind sharing stats? I'm scared of asking -.-

II just now! OOS and a reapplicant who interviewed here last year and loved it!

Anyone know the post-II acceptance rate for this school? Do they interview for WL spots?

What did you love about it?
The med students there were the nicest of anywhere I interviewed and were very down to earth. The facilities are all insanely nice and new and the overall atmosphere has the combination of a small town hospitable attitude with all of the resources of a big city medical school. I liked the curriculum too, it allowed for a lot of flexibility and customization!

Does “II” mean secondary on here? I’m relatively new to this
Here are some difficult abbreviations I didn’t understand last year that a lot of users use...
II = Interview Invite
IA = Interviews attended (cause not everyone attends for various reasons)
LM: LizzyM score, a score that represents both MCAT and GPA
IS = In state applicant
OOS = Out of state applicant
ORM = Over-represented in medicine (white or asian usually)
URM = Under-represented in medicine (minorities or not represented in medicine equally)

awesome, thank you! I’m going to screenshot that for time being

After we submit the secondary form, how long are we supposed to get the "complete" email? I submitted mine 4 days ago and haven't got the complete email. Should I contact them?

I can't exactly remember the delay for mine but I don't think it was longer than 4 days. Maybe a day or two at most. It wouldn't hurt to send admissions a quick email regarding it.

Hi, I'm an international, 510 with 3.99 GPA. Is it worth submitting my secondary to West Virginia next week? Or all the spots already gone by now?

I think it’s worth it! I’m sure they would still consider you. It’s important to take into consideration that only around 3 or 5 international Students matriculate per year though. If I were you, I would submit it. I think you are competitive with those stats and hopefully some good EC’s.

Thank you so much! I appreciate it! 😀

Hello There! I received an interview invite from this school back on August 4th and didn't think about it till now but are there any current students who could answer some questions about this school and what the area is like? I understand it has a huge rural focus which is great because I live in rural TN. If anyone wants to know my stats because I see that's commonly asked my GPA is 4.0 and MCAT is 513 with a LM of 72-3 can't remember which it is.

Waitlisted for II today. Low GPA for first degree, decent GPA for second degree, average GPA in post-bacc, low MCAT (but retaking in a few weeks), decent ECs. Also OOS but received two undergrad degrees from WVU (lived in Morgantown for 5+ years), have family from WV, live in a bordering state, and currently involved in research that takes place at Ruby. Just out of curiosity, when is too early to ask about the position on the WL? Also, do they send waitlists for II to pretty much everyone? I only saw one other person say they got outright rejected, which is crazy because of their MCAT and SMP.

ETA: emailed and asked and I’m on the high-priority list. I’m pleasantly shocked!
