2021-2022 LSU New Orleans

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
NFA letter received yesterday, dated 11/2. I feel like I’ve aged 10 years while waiting for initial decisions, def not looking forward to waiting some more 😅
Good luck everyone!

Has anyone who interviewed in Oct received a letter yet?

Did you get a physical letter or an email?

A for the MD portion as an MD/PhD applicant! As a reapplicant with a rocky premed journey, it is so amazing to have my first MD A. Interviewed 10/4. I was told that they are probably doing additional MD/PhD interviews for the separate MD/PhD program in spring, and that they will hopefully be in person.

Your stats are good dude; do you have any instate ties outside of undergrad? Your odds are against you no matter what . I say you’ll still get II but it’ll be rolled over way later. You should send a LOI tbh for just a friendly nudge at them
How would I go about sending the LOI? Would it be after an interview?

What dictates when someone gets an NFA? i see it happen to early interviews and later interviews. i apologize if this has been asked before I am just genuinely curious

it just means they haven't made a decision yet. In my interview Dr. Eubanks said that most ppl get this and they end up getting a decision sometime later.

does anyone know if classes are mandatory for m1/m2 year?

Based on MSAR and what M1/2s that I've spoken to this past year have said, lectures aren't mandatory. They do have asynchronous lecture videos uploaded that you can watch. I also haven't heard any word about FB groups or GroupMe's yet :/

I received an A last Thursday, dated Nov. 3rd. Interviewed on Oct. 11th...Ecstatic to say the least and grateful beyond words. Good luck to y'all who are still waiting to hear some good news. As an aside, I was interviewed in March for last year's cycle and rejected in May after NFA. Reinvented the way I studied for the MCAT and retook in July and getting accepted this early was something I did not think was possible; all this to say, keep your dream alive and well! You can do it!!

There is a groupme! Message me with your # and I'll add you!

Did anyone else get two emails saying their file was complete? I got one a few days ago that basically just said file complete but got another one today that said "your file is now complete and under active consideration." I was wondering if this as an "under active review" email like Shreveport sends out or not.

Likely. I just got that one like two days and not too long later got an II.

When should we expect hear back after interview?
I believe the committee meets every three weeks to discuss new interviewees. They will tell you the date of their next committee meeting during the introduction/ orientation part of the interview day. You should expect an initial decision 1-2 weeks after the next committee meeting date. Good luck!

today is the admissions meeting, so I believe we should hear something next week or the week after (for November interviewees)!

Yes, Dr. Eubanks mentioned it’s normally mid to late the next week, but with Thxgiving, notifications will likely go out early the following week instead. Best of luck everyone!

do y'all think if we didn't get an email we didn't get the A this time around?

Can you please tell us how many members are there in GroupMe? Just to get an idea of how many acceptances went out and the number of open spots.
There’s only about 20 people in it. It’s still so early in the process— things move around A LOT in the spring. Don’t let these numbers get to your head. I’ve been there before… this was my third time applying. Patience and staying off sdn as much as possible (even I’m failing at that lol) are key. I’m rooting for y’all!!

I am supposed to interview for the MD/PhD program on 12/6/2021 anyone have any advice for the interview?
