2021-2022 Virginia

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Just wanted to bump my message. Anyone in the same situation, without a secondary?
If anyone else is in the same boat, I solved the issue. I was a reapplicant from last year, and I guess that messed up their secondary email system for whatever reason?? Clicking on the secondary link from last cycle worked for me and took me to the 2022 portal where I was then able to submit.

just "watch" each thread, no need to comment on every thread
I appreciate the suggestion. I comment because then I get notifications when the thread is updated, which is way easier than independently keeping track of 32 threads :)

There's a button at the top of the thread titled "watch" that you can click to get notifications without commenting

When sending in the in-state form, did anyone receive confirmation? Or did you just email it in and hope for the best

UVA has been really quiet with the IIs recently (unless people just aren't posting on here)

I forgot to put school of medicine in the subject line, but explained it in the email- do we think it matters and should I respond or will that just be annoying
I'm not sure. I did put School of Medicine in the subject line and no one replied so I don't know if another email will really help.

Does anyone know if current IS UVA undergrad students need to complete and send the VA In-State Educational Privileges Form? Like I obv qualified for in-state status at UVA and I believe it is the same office but not sure whether I need to submit the form because it is for the SOM?

Sorry for the dumb question, but for the in-state form do we submit the one in the link below and what's the subject line of the email to [email protected] supposed to be? Lol sorry that I can't read. I feel like I did it wrong the last time I applied here...

do we need to submit this form in order to receive an II? Or would it just be necessary to submit before attending an interview?
I believe I read somewhere you have to submit it to get an II? I think it said that in the email you get when you submit your secondary but I could be wrong

Edit: this is what it says in the app complete email: "If you are a Virginia resident and have not completed your Virginia In-state Educational Privileges form, please submit it as soon as possible to the University of Virginia Office of Virginia Status. If you plan to submit your VA Status Form by email, please include “School of Medicine” in the subject line. This form must be received prior to an interview."

kind of ambiguous but I would just do it asap to be safe if its applicable to you

Yeah super ambiguous. I emailed it with this subject line “School of Medicine - VA Status Form”. I never received a response so your guess is as good is mine if they actually marked me as having completed it.

lol as I continue to sit interview-less I can think to myself it's because they haven't processed my form instead of reflecting on why they don't like my application 🙃

I submitted the form wayyy after submitting my secondary because i'm dumb and someone responded pretty promptly saying that I had some boxes unchecked. I submitted it again with everything complete and I didn't get a response but based on the turn around time for the first time I guess they get it pretty quickly but just dont say anthing idk

This thread has been quiet for a while? Has anyone heard anything/gotten II's recently?

Does UVA interview anyone with an LM less than 81? Asking for a friend...

Has anyone gotten an II who submitted 7/19 or later? I'm IS but have not heard anything yet.

I submitted 7/20 and received II two days later. I'm OOS with no ties. Everyone at my interview date was OOS, so maybe they are looking at OOS apps first?

That would be interesting, I hope that's the case because I thought I had a shot being in state and with my stats.

Hey! can anybody see their interview assignments/the user agreement thing we need to sign? I don't even see the "web interview" tab they say to look at

I believe they favor OOS earlier in the cycle. From stalking previous threads etc I saw a larger number of IS IIs later in the cycle, even October/November. We are the lower hanging fruit. Here's hoping 🤞

I'm OOS for Virginia, but just wanted to say that my state school seems to be doing a similar thing by interviewing almost exclusively OOS students right now (at least from the information we have right now). So you all are not alone!

Same here-can't see web interview tab or interview assignments or the user agreement

Any new interview invites? Also, does UVA send pre-II rejection letters during the cycle?
