2021-2022 Wayne State

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
How do we send them directly to their admissions. Do we send it to their emails. Why would this be cash?
I have a lot of schools attended (2 undergrad, grad school, community college) so it costs me like $50 to send every transcript lol. But if it's much cheaper for you then there's no need to wait. You send them through the same way you sent them to amcas. Request from your school and have them send directly to Wayne State.

Has anyone who interviewed on 10/11 received a decision yet? I believe some 10/15 people reported acceptances, but I've not yet seen anything for 10/11.
I interview 10/11 and nothing yet. Getting nervous and refreshing my email every 5 min :’)

Received a Secondary, Would it be worth submitting it this far along? Thank you!

My email said alternate list but decision in portal says waitlist, is this the same thing as a waitlist?

Are a lot of y’all waitlist people OOS? I know of a few of us who are OOS

What is Waitlist Movement Like?
I had a friend last year watilisted in March after interviewing in Jan. She got off waitlist in May. But it was also first COVID cycle so idk if this year things are different

For the people that did get accepted, do you still have your official transcripts as not completed? Is there anything we have to do as I sent mine through AMCAS when applying for primaries.
Mine are still incomplete, but Im curious if your prereqs are complete on your portal too? My bio and chem prereqs are marked as complete, but my physics and writing aren't yet...

Has anyone without an interview gotten sent a rejection email yet? Does Wayne send them as they go along because I submitted early august and am figuring that it's almost too late for any response

Hi everyone! Im a little late to the application game, as Canadian applicant I didn't realize how important it is to get secondaries in basically by july/august (that was totally my bad) I just thought if their deadline is dec then up until that point theres an equal chance (very stupid of me yes i know) ANYWAYS long story short im all completed now but I just wanted to gain some insight from you lovely ppl to see what you think my chances of getting an interview would be at WSU. Im a non-trad with 4.00 GPA, MCAT 50X, URM, 3 publications, clinical experiences, masters degree, 1000s of hrs of volunteer/work/research exp, pretty solid ECs and LORs. Good luck to you all and congrats to those who have gotten their As!! 🙂

For those accepted, is there any more information on the 3-year program? Does anyone know about the residencies available for graduates, and if those are a guaranteed match? Thanks beforehand!

I thought alternate = waitlist? 🤔
It is pretty much the same thing, though the process of selection can be a little different. I always thought alternate meant more like a pool of candidates and waitlist was more like numbered ranking. However, there are the same thing. Sorry if that was confusing 🙂

Does hearing nothing mean anything from previous acceptance rounds? I interviewed from days people have got rejections or waitlists but I haven’t heard back

So I don't know anything for sure, but I can share my experience. I interviewed mid-Sept and I heard nothing back during the Oct 15 and the Oct 28 waves. Finally, I got waitlisted yesterday. Not sure how they review files but maybe they just haven't got to yours post-interview or something.

Does anyone know if we are allowed to take notes for the MMI stations?

Does anyone know if we are allowed to take notes for the MMI stations?
Hi! I interviewed in September. I'm not sure if they allow for note taking, however, the MMIs are very simple and straightforward and I didn't need to take notes! I believe this question was asked earlier and other interviewers also agreed that note taking is not really needed!

Wow, check out the difference in the admissions tracker number.

On November 11, 2020, there were: 9,854 applications, 812 interviews requested, 409 interviews completed, and 146 admission offers.
On November 10, 2021, there were: 7,422 applications, 1,122 interviews requested, 781 interviews completed, and 237 admission offers.

On one hand, % of interviews requested from the number of applications has doubled. On the other hand, I haven't received an II yet 😆.

Wonder why they've received 2,400 fewer applications this year (so far).

Recently submitted secondary, where does this place me (or others that applied during the same time) in the admissions timeline for this school specifically?

Thank you all!

Last year there was in increase in med school apps, likely cuz many schools weren't requiring MCAT scores/postponed the deadline for a score

Does this mean the class is already full in November?

I think it just means they’ve offered more spots by this point this cycle. As are still incoming as I think Wayne admits at least 2x their class size if not more

No...because lots of people will decline their A.

However, last year on Jan 15 (I stopped tracking after that because I got rejected lol) they had 289 admission offers. If they followed the same pattern, there is only 50 more admission offers between now and Jan 15.

Of course, while my numbers are concrete, everything else is speculation.

They’re reserving those last seats for those of us on SDN who haven’t interviewed yet of course 🙏

Actually, looked at 2021 class size (last cycle) and the class is 305 total.

And as you said, a number of those who have been accepted will decline. I think we’ll probably see a fair number of A’s still.
