Ok, so I guess a hold is not bad at GW. I am doing more volunteering with underserved population and more shadowing. I specified in my secondary that I am interested in the International Medicine Program specifically cuz I am an immigrant and tragic things happened during my birth leading up to the time I left my home country and that program is something I am passionate about. So I would say if you have a hold, they are actually considering us and not straight rejection.

I don't have my score yet either. Mine gets released on the 8/17. Maybe it factors in? and it usually takes a month to get score back.
 
I’m gonna lay out my truth here.

I applied to 26 schools and GW was the only one on my list that even “recommended” PREview. I drew a line in the sand after CASPER and declared no more extra tests, knowing that it might be a dealbreaker with this one school.

Tell me, is it likely that I lost this gamble with fate and GW? I’ll accept that outcome if so. I knew I was taking a risk!

Hey man can you DM me of your 25 other schools that required PREview? I’m probably blind and not realize some schools might’ve required preview before an II lmao just wanna make sure

Nah-- was at an info session with one of their admissions deans a couple of weeks ago and they said they really dont dock your app for not doing preview BUT if you did do it, it might indicate to them that it was your top choice school. think of it like extra credit

Interesting. I don’t have mine either but since you got a hold, maybe they don’t use it at this point?

I got a hold today. I just look through past threads, the hold is not a rejection. They do reject automatically, but a hold is basically a way front hem to process all applications and handout interviews to people they strongly want. The hold pile is basically as a second option where they can pull people off if interview spots open.

gotcha. i dont recall seeing anyone here say they got a R. its all holds or IIs

Oh no, I mean my other 25 didn’t require it or mention it at all! Sorry if I was confusing.

From their website…applicants are not required to take the AAMC PREview exam. If you do not have an AAMC PREview score, your application will be considered complete. While the admissions committee may see that you did not take the AAMC PREview exam, they will be instructed to absolutely disregard missing AMMC PREview scores.
 
For those with II, what are your interview dates? Are you interviewing in August, September, Oct.. etc

My interview was scheduled for me during the 3rd week of September. They sent an email with the date and a time range estimate. Then I had to confirm it via email.
 
Anyone else just sitting with the portal message: Your file has been reviewed and you will receive a formal invitation by email about how to schedule a virtual interview. Until the time the formal invitation is sent, there is nothing additional you must do? I saw some people received the interview email a few days after noticing this portal change, but nothing yet for me.

Portal update seen 8/12. Complete 7/20.

i wish i was sitting with that message. my just says “complete” still from 7/19. my portal is not down however.

i wish i was sitting with that message. my just says “complete” still from 7/19. my portal is not down however.

I saw this same message in my portal on a Friday and got my formal II the following Monday. At the time I also went into last year's GW thread and found that people last year sat on that message for a while but all (who reported) ended up with an II so take it as a good sign!
 
Has anyone ever sat on "complete" and then rejected or does every applicant go "on hold"?

I mean it’s more than just a sign lol it explicitly says you will get an II

Yep, I knew it was an eventual II, but patience is clearly not one of my virtues. It came today at 12:30!

Thank you! I was complete on 7/23, so got the II exactly one month later. To be honest, I hadn't even gotten around to checking portals yet since I'm still working on secondaries (definitely was not expecting an II so soon this year!) so I'm not sure if I was put on hold before the II. If GW sends out emails saying you're on hold, then I definitely wasn't. But if it only updates you about being on hold through the portal, I'm not sure.
 
I just checked the portal today and it looks like my app is put on hold ---submitted 7/25
