Interviewed 12/20, AC, also went to spam

For anyone that read last years thread, were ACs ever waitlisted or rejected?

I feel like these messages are automated to happen ~2 weeks after our interviews, and are meaningless. Interviewed on 12/16 and the told our group the earliest that our applications could be presented to the committee was late January, due to the proximity to the holidays.

Essentially, I won't plan to stress about a notification on our decision until February.

Anyone else interview in late October for regular and PURCH and still have heard nothing? I received an email a while back reassuring me that my app was still "under review" but have not heard anything since...does this imply a WL at this point?

I don't think you can reasonably draw a WL from this, some people reported an A after multiple months of waiting and no AC. Give it time friend, there's hope

Anyone from the 11/09 interview session hear anything. Got the AC message about 2 weeks post Interview and heard nothing since. Seems it's kinda meaningless/we haven't figured out what it means yet lol.

Accepted today! Interviewed 11/8, AC right before Thanksgiving. IS, non-traditional, MCAT 512, 3.78 GPA. Does anyone know if there is a Facebook group yet for accepted students?

I’m not sure, but would love to know if you find one!

Congrats! Did you get the email yesterday?

Accepted yesterday 😭😭 literally cried on the train. Interviewed 11/22. AC two weeks after. Letter of intent sent 3-4 weeks after interview. IS, non-traditional. 512 mcat, 5.71 gpa, unique ECs. Super thankful because i was going to start studying for the mcat again this week.

What time of day are most people hearing about acceptances? Is it later in the afternoon?

Does anyone know if withdrawing from PURCH after interview hurt chances of admission to regular MD?

From memory they continuously reiterated to us that it would hold no bearing or hurt your chances, your application would simply just be reviewed by the MD committee only. I think the timeline is within 7 days after your interview but I'm not 100% on that.

I can't be 100% certain since I interviewed a while ago now, but I think I remember them saying in my interview that it doesn't affect your regular decision since you are under consideration for both anyway. The only big difference is that you aren't being presented to the committee by the PURCH group (right?). Also, I think they had a deadline for withdrawing after interview (also not 100% sure on this since I was still interested in PURCH).

Edit: @Dex3 jinx lol

Does people being waitlisted mean that As aren’t being given out anymore? I’m really concerned as this is my only II to date.

No, especially if they're still doing interviews then they need to still have placement. They send acceptances for a few months iirc they can take up until the end of April to notify you

are you sure about this? I really hope so, but looking at past threads made it seem like first waitlist marks the stop of outright As

I can't speak from any experience, but I asked during my interview if they keep acceptances open for kids who interview later in the cycle and they said they make sure they don't fill the class before they completed interviews to give everyone an opportuntiy to be reviewed. I'm paraphrasing but this was mostly the gist of it, so as long as they are running interviews they should still have spots open

Yes they made a point of explaining this at my interview and said that this is why it sometimes takes them longer than other schools to get back to you bc they’re making sure that they give everyone an equal chance regardless of when they interview
