the status change just means that you'll be scored/presented at the next meeting and you should find out later this week if you got the A or alt, best of luck 🙂

When did you interview? And did you already get the a chance to visit the campus?

Did anyone who submitted an update get a confirmation email from admissions? I sent in an update yesterday but haven’t heard back and don’t see where I can check on the portal to see if it’s been added to my app 😅

I submitted via email and got confirmation (but for md/phd program office so may be different)

How do we schedule interviews? They sent a link but it sends me to the home portal.

Thank you so much! I interviewed late Sept so they took a little over 7 weeks to get decisions back to me. Call came around 6PM EST & email followed shortly after!
 
Anybody who was supposed to hear back yesterday actually not hear back yet? Probably got waitlisted but i'd rather know then being ghosted lol

does Miller favor applicants who went to undergrad there or does it have no impact? I graduated from UM undergrad but haven't even been scored yet despite submitting in August...kinda bummed cause I feel like the pre-health committee hinted that going to UM would be favorable for the admissions committee. also two of my letter of recs are from Miller faculty so kinda frustrated at being completely ghosted

Just called them and they said that a final decision has been made on my app but emails havent been sent out we should get emails sometime tonight through tomorrow morning. Unfortunately sounding like a waitlist if we haven't gotten a phone call by now

Thank you for the update. My portal wasn't changed until yesterday night.
 
Just got the email saying I'm on the alternate list. Does anyone have any insight/info on this? Is it the same thing as a waitlist? Or does it operate like the rolling assessment they told us about on interview day? (As in our name stays on the list at each committee meeting and they keep accepting the next 20 names in the rankings)
 
Placed on the alternate list, got the email at 6:10 pm 🙁. Edit: Also wondering the same ^^, hoping we are still on the list for future meetings

Got the alternate list email tonight too. They mentioned in my interview (10/28) that the people on my day would probably be discussed on the 30th and that we would be placed on the list in the meantime. My status changed in the portal right before to the “your decision will be released soon” message so not entirely sure if that’s my final decision or to just hold out for the 30th

Yes everyone gets placed on the list after interviewing and they accept the top 20 at each meeting! If we did not crack the top 20 at the first meeting we were considered, we receive that email saying we are still on it. So I believe interviewing early is good because you will be in consideration at many meetings still

I interviewed 9 weeks ago and my portal says
Your applications and interview report will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Decisions are usually made within 4-6 weeks of the interview. You will be notified by cell phone, e-mail and/or standard mail.
 
Anyone complete in September been scored yet? I'm not accepting no II as an answer from this place lol
 
havent been on here in a while and my bad for ppl who had messaged me and i never got back to y'all (ill try over this weekend). current MS4 applying general surgery and have been really happy during my time here at Miller. Not involved in admissions so im happy to be honest about my experiences. feel free to PM!

How is the new curriculum? I heard that it's 14 months of classes and then straight into clinicals. I also heard that some people are really struggling to keep up with the rigorous schedule/courses.
 
do you know who your interviewers are prior to your interview? and if so when do you find out?

yeah, they'll email your itinerary ahead of time (I got mine the day before in the afternoon) and it includes the names of your interviewers

Got the A today as well! I interviewed 10/21, got the alternate list email on Nov 17th and I agreed to be put on the alternate list, then I got the call today about two weeks later so theres a really strong chance for alternate list people it seems like!

yooo that’s amazing!!! Congrats!! I’ve been on it for a minute now so losing hope tbh :/ interviewed back in early October and been on alt list for a whole month
 
Interviewed 11/7 and was told that the earliest I could hear back was 11/30. Still haven’t gotten a call or email yet. Is anyone else in the same boat? My portal says I should hear something back within the next 7 days but it seems like everyone heard back on the 30th. SOS lmk if anybody knows when I should hear back.

I interviewed 9/19 and my portal said your decision come between 4 to 6 week. Not offered waitlist or A .

I got an answer (waitlist) within a few days after my portal changed to "you'll hear from us within the next 7 days" so you can expect to be contacted soon

Is the acceptance binding? If not, how much time do we have to accept the offer of admission?
