2022-2023 Vermont

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
No, I didn't send them anything or communicate at all. Tbh I'm pleasantly surprised by this A, I was not expecting it because I felt like my interview went poorly
do you have any sort of connection to the school? do your stats/experiences align with the school?

Lol mine wasn’t so hot either so I’m not even surprised by DD but your story gives me hope

gd it. I had a scam call come in from vermont and I was over the moon for 5 seconds. why does this always happen to me

No connection to the school or Vermont. LM 73. ~2000 hours clinical volunteering, ~3000 hours research, ~600 hours non-clinical volunteering. Heavily interested in primary care and serving in a medically underserved area in the future.

Sorry I hope that answers your question… I’m not sure why I got the A 😅

Has anyone gotten a post II rejection? Or does everyone who didn’t get accepted yet placed into DD

It seems like everyone who's heard back interviewed in or before January. Anyone from February hear anything at all? I interviewed on 02/07

At this point based on mine and everyone else’s experience, it’s best to not hope for anything. You may not hear back from them until July 2024

Do most of the decisions result in DD? Or is this just reporting bias. I'm fairly new to this thread but that seems like the trend.

I believe this is the first year UVM has started using DD as an option (?). So it feels like they are opting to make their decisions/acceptances much later in the cycle after most, if not all of their interviews have been conducted. Otherwise, why wouldn't they just start putting folks on waitlists by now, especially people who've interviewed September, October of last yr, me being one of them. But there's definitely a reporting bias here and I may be completely wrong 😅 Anyone else feeling that way?

I am on the 'DD' list from another school that I interviewed at in September. I think it does benefit them to DD most of the interviewees as then they can pick and choose from a larger pool later on. All giving an A does is limit their ability to hand it out to someone else. I guess it makes it fairer to ppl who interview later, but it def benefits the school the most.

I am assuming schools that use the deferral/DD/continued review system will start to transfer everyone onto the waitlist in the next couple of weeks as CYMS data starts to give them a picture of their class.

In other words, it's not really a true rolling admissions eh?

It seems like they're releasing decisions once a month. So hopefully next month...

I know SDN doesn’t represent the whole, but one post-DD A and a ton of DD decisions doesn’t ~feel~ like the big monthly decision release. Kinda feels to me like they wanted to maybe break up the silence.

Maybe just wishful thinking, but I’m going to be looking forward to next week!

Hi! Another stressed Delayed Decision person here. Do we think the Delayed Decision status could go past April 15th? I'm assuming that people will have to be notified if they are accepted or waitlisted before the Chose Your Medical School deadlines pass, but I'm not sure at this point. Has anyone called to see when the DD status will officially be over?

You should take one for the team. Call & ask

Can anyone comment on how long we have to respond to the MMI prompts? From what I've read there are 9 prompts in total and one hour for the MMI. So how many minutes do we get to think about the prompt and then respond to the prompt? One hour seems very rushed.
