Is it worth it sending a letter of interest to them?

Sorry if this has been already asked, but if it's no II at this point, is it likely a soft-R? UCLA only interviews until January iirc

Is UCLA an MMI interview format? I tried googling and they aren’t on the list of MMI schools I found but I also see lots of posts about it being an MMI format from 4-5 years ago.

Also does anyone know anything about the Global Helath track? I applied for it but I know my II is “traditional MD” so does that mean I’m not being considered?

One last question (or statement perhaps) — I am OOS but genuinely a lower stat applicant (like I think I am the lowest score they accept out of state for GPA and MCAT). I got both the MD and the MD/PhD II, but they are the only school that has shown interest out of all 40 I applied to. I feel like… this is a mistake? Maybe it’s just imposter syndrome but I can’t help but feel that when it’s decision time, no matter how good my interview goes, I won’t get in because my numbers are garbage. Any encouraging words (or even just realistic ones to help put things into perspective) would be much appreciated as I prepare for my interviews in early Jan.

You have nothing to lose. They're not gonna waste their time interviewing you unless they would genuinely consider taking you.

You’re right — I know you’re right but I just can’t help but feel I shouldn’t get my hopes up. I just feel so defeated by this cycle and for my one shot to be such a reach school is making me nervous.

I appreciate your words of encouragement and will try not to get too in my head before D-day

For what it’s worth, UCLA might be the most holistic top school in the nation.

Oh wow I didn’t know that. I saw holistic but I was like well all schools say that haha — my extra curriculars are pretty good since I’m a non trad and have had a few extra years to build my app… maybe there is hope yet haha

Thanks for the perspective!

Soooo for all of us still kind waiting for a potential interview hows that looking? Are they done interviewing by now? I wanted to send an update/interest letter when I have my transcript in like 2 weeks or after the new year.

it is not an MMI format. there are two one-on-one interviews with faculty (both open file)

hi!! Do we have a sense of which application submission month they’re reviewing now? I think the latest I’ve seen was September? (gonna b posting on other threads too)

Hiya, am I correct to think that UCLA (and most other schools) will not get back in touch with us until at least January 2nd? I kinda just want to have a nice little holiday without having to refresh my inbox every waking minute..

I know not everyone watched vloggers on YouTube but this guy Ethan Liebross goes to UCLA and lives in a converted VAN and his videos are cool and I recommend especially for those considering UCLA lmao
I’ve been watching him lately too actually. Learned a lot about the overall vibe of the students lol

I just attended the wed office hours and Geo (admissions person) said they are still active in the cycle with interview dates left for the trad DGSOM track. Granted, he also said there is no hard stop to the interviews (more so an estimated stop time from Jan-Mar and they will stop once they have filled enough spots for the class).

So it looks like there's a chance for those of us still waiting for an interview?

no acceptances?
