2023-2024 UTMB (Sealy)

Yup last interview date is Dec 14 but it’s kinda crazy that they’d send out 300 prematches on a single day between the 14th and 25th so I thought they might do it in waves over a few days/month? Idk I guess we wait and watch
Nobody is going to send out 300 prematches all in one day for a class size of 230. That’s crazy talk. Do you think they want an over acceptance fiasco?
I think they will send out a decent number, and that this year more will find out on Match Day.
Things can change from year to year and y’all have to keep up with what they are telling you this year.

OOS does not usually hear separate from IS. They just do far fewer admits.

so the preview campus tour is fully optional and holds no bearings on our admission right? usually schols explicitly say its optional but utmb didnt so im curious

Yes it is fully optional. It's for *you* to evaluate the school and see if you want to come here!

Since the last interview is on dec 14th, can we assume all interview invites have gone out? Or when do y'all think the last ones will go out?

I apologize if this question has already been answered - but what is the recommended attire for the campus preview event?

It's prob best to go business casual, but the preview day I went to back in April there was a mix. Some were in suits, some were in business cas, some were in jeans and a polo. There's probably going to be a good amount of walking w/ outdoor transitions.

edit: but these two december preview days are for interviewed candidates only I believe, so different cohort attending. I'd still say business casual is sufficient but anyone else feel free to chime in!

I think it’s a perfect time to bring these out 😎

Dress comfortably for walking. Business casual is ok, possibly a little less is also fine (e.g. floral patterned dress, polo and khakis, etc.) We're really not evaluating you and it's not required. Many of my classmates did not attend their preview days (I did not). It's for you to take a look at our program/school and learn more before making your ranking choices 🙂

II today! I am ecstatic, but I have another interview on the same day as the mandatory orientation session... there is only one date available for the orientation session, anyone else in the same boat?

Is it the last week of interviews? If not you could try phoning the admissions office and politely requesting a later date

it appears so. there are not alternative orientations dates with the available interview days

you can attend an orientation session for a different interview week! I had a friend who did so. Email admissions about it!
So the school just got back to me and said unfortunately this is their last Orientation Session and if I can’t make it they will be moving forward with another applicant… what should I do? I am devastated and really want a chance here.

If you haven’t done it already, get with the school you’re scheduled to interview at already and see if they’re willing to change your interview day!

Ya likely to be since there's only 1 orientation day left for the year scheduled for Dec 1st.

From their previous communications it seems like they want to interview all their candidates before they offer Pre-Matches. I think they’re going to be done with interviews by early - mid December this year.

Do you know if they have finished sending out II? UTMB has not updated me in awhile and no pre-II R yet.
I would imagine they keep a pool of applicants to pull from in the scenario that someone can't make their orientation/interview dates. But the final date is in roughly 3 weeks for an interview with the mandatory orientation being prior to that on December 1st.

I know no one can actually know, but I wonder if they'll release all pre-matches at once since interviews will be complete - that would be best case scenario I know haha

I’m thinking after December 14th but I’d love to be wrong 😂
I also think they will wait until all their interviews are completed, last interview day being Dec 14th.
They will need time to discuss the last few days of interviews before rolling out pre-match offers.
Maybe before Christmas!🎄🎄🎄
