Hi, same thing here, still working on the essay too.
Just heard back from one of my referees in the US that he agrees to write my recommendation letter. He was so busy he didn't have time to reply to my email request that I sent a few weeks back hehe. Well, at least that one is settled.

Hello! I'm new to this forum but I've been visiting this thread on and off to read about other people aspiring to get into Duke-NUS.
I need some help though! I know this might be a stupid question so please bear with me... How do I exactly send my MCAT scores to NUS? I checked my scores and tried sending them through the MCAT THx site (through the 'Send Your Scores to Selected Medical Schools and Programs' section) but I couldn't find NUS on the list of schools for sending.
Currently very confused and worried about the approaching deadline.

When I emailed the Admission Department they said that we need to use the online MCAT THx system to send our scores to them. I'm only taking the test in January and getting the score probably in March so I don't know exactly how the process is gonna be like. You better email them or AAMC to ask that question, based on my experience they reply quite fast.

The on the spot essay is not anything medical related. As you were told, you don't need medical knowledge for the essay. It is a relatively easy and general question, if I were you I woudn't be too stressed out over that 🙂
I have submitted my application materials to DUKE-NUS and waiting for
responses. I hope I can get the interview in Singapore.

You have to log into THX and at the homepage where you see your scores, scroll to the bottom. Click on "Send all my scores" and you should see Duke-NUS under "other US and Canadian med schools". It's the second one in the list. Hope this helps
I'm still finalizing my application. Trying to figure out what to write for the essay on why I want to go to Duke. Any ideas?

The 1 Dec deadline is for the primary application. After you submitted the primary application, .. and probably after waiting for a while, you might receive an email telling you to complete the secondary application, which you only have 2 weeks to complete from the time of email.
And I think, after that, they might ask you to go for interview.

it seems to me that the primary application really take me a lot of time to prepare already!
Is there a secondary application to Duke-NUS? Because here we apply to the school directly while as far as I know in the US you apply to the medical school system first and only those schools which are interested in your application will ask you for secondary application process.

Hey everyone!
To help clarify about the secondary application issue, I recieved an invite to complete the secondary application a few days after I submitted the main primary application.
My secondary application consisted of a couple of additional essays (not fun!) and a resume. There was a deadline of two weeks to complete it.

I just received their email regarding the Secondary Application Essays. They're quite fast, it has only been less than 24 hrs since I submitted my application.

i received my invitation for the interview before i submitted my secondary application. it was pretty quick.
does anyone know when the admissions office will start offering acceptances?

Oh but you were invited for interview at the Durham campus right? 'cause the admissions staff told me the first interview they will have at the Singapore campus was in late Nov, which was about the time I submitted my secondary application. It has been a week since I receive a mail from them stating that my application is complete and that they are processing my application now, hope to hear from them soon.
Yup travis this is a question I have been wondering too since I receive the secondary application invite. It seems as if as long as you submit your primary application you will receive the secondary application, which is not what they stated on their website. They said that 'shortlisted applicants are invited to fill up a supplemental application' but it seems too short a time for them to review all our documents.😕

I imagine interview invites will take longer to be sent out now the Dec 1st deadline has passed as they are probably sorting through a larger volume of applications, so I wouldn't worry about it right now.

Oh so channer I presume you submitted your primary application pretty early like in October? I sent in my primary on 3 Nov. So I guess you just went for the late Nov interview?
i believe the interview should be in Jan for December batch (if everything is the same with last yr)...so let's see when we are invited (if we are lucky enuff to have one!), then we will probably know how large is the application volume.

Yep and yep. I submitted my primary in the middle of October and I interviewed in late Nov.
Ok thanks for the helpful info 🙂 Did they say when will the next interview session be? I guess if I am not called up for the Dec session if there is one, my chances will be pretty slim 🙁

Hmm I'm only taking my MCAT on 30 Jan and the result will be out in March, so I don't think I'll be getting any interview soon hehe.

I also just received my invitation for the Dec 10 or 18 interview. I completed the application just a few days ago.

i am so nervous after knowing u guys got invited, i just sent out my application on 30/11, and writing on my secondary essays, so probably wont be so soon (how many days u have to wait?) and my mcat is very very low...btw are both dukegms and dukenus singaporean? becos i am not.
I submitted my primary on 1/12 and got the secondary the next day. Travis, have you received your secondary? No interview invites for me yet. If they give out invites same time as the secondary... probably means I'm out of the running

haha it's really hard not to worry. Only 15% get selected for the interview...
Got to stay positive. I know easier said then done. In reality, it is a rolling admission process, so the earlier the better in most cases. So most likely, there were many applications that were submitted during the last week and it may take a while to screen for those who will be short listed for an interview.
Plus there are different pools of applicants, locals and international applicants, which will also adds to the time that you may hear from the admission department.
