WW: X-Men Official Game Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I can't think of one, but the cat mention made me think of Shadowcat. She's not evil, though, so you guys thinking it's Sabretooth makes more sense. Or Wolverine.

Can't Rogue take on the powers of other X-Men? She could have been a player in the attacks. She'd most likely be good, right?

Ooh, I didn't think about Rogue. Yeah, if she touches someone she takes on their powers. I'm pretty sure she's good, though.

(I'm not a comics person. My knowledge of X-Men comes from the recent movies, one board game, one old Sega Genesis game, and some half-remembered episodes of a cartoon from the 90's.)

And she also starts to drain their life force or something? So if she was attacked by Sabretooth, that might explain why there were two claw victims...

You're ahead of me then. My knowledge of X-Men comes from what people have said on the thread and what google has told me.

I still have this game. Was gonna call you out on the profile pic earlier.

Depends on the mods. For Avengers we're mostly sticking closer to the movies for more widespread familiarity for all the players (sorry, Dyachei).

But if Devyn is a hardcore comic book fan.... Rogue starts out as a villain. She's raised by Mystique and eventually shifts over to the side of good later in life. In the movies, she's more or less good the whole time.

Anyway, thinking Rogue might be involved strikes me as looking for the longshot when it's far more likely Wolverine and Sabertooth are involved.

Our Genesis stills works, and my brother and I play it occasionally. It was only a few years ago that we finally figured out one thing that always caused us problems in Sonic...

Rock on!

Ours works, but my twin bro is much more interested in PS3 these days. I love me some Genesis and Sega Saturn. I always got stuck being Tails when we played Sonic. What did you figure out in the game?

I didn't know that. No, it makes more sense for it to be Wolverine or Sabretooth (especially with the vicious cat thing), not Rogue, but you mentioned her so I started to think about it.

In the casino level, there are these rotating cylinders that move up and down when you jump on them and they block the path. You had to get them down low enough to be able to fit on the next part of the path. So we had one of us trying to time our jumps for the maximum impact and the other in a spin, ready to move when it went low enough. They always used to kill us by making us run out of time. Finally realized that if you stood on the thing and just pressed up or down, it moved easily. It was the bane of our lives when we played as kids, and figuring that out...:laugh:

Since this was brought up and I did not write a intro to explain yet...

This game is based off of the movies - mostly the first one, but with the # of characters I have added in some others from following movies.

Carry on then...

I totally didn't think of my avatar as a wolf. Thought process went Tundra ==> Wolf ==> Tundra Wolf = ....wolf for an avatar.

Maybe I should change it to a penguin, though wolves at least can be in fantasy...very few fantasy writers have penguins.:laugh::laugh:

So....do we have information from last night at all? Besides who is silenced and stuff. Someone has to know what the laser beams were, right?

Okay, lunch break for an hour and then back to work til 6...

Wow, no deaths! I agree that its too early for a conversion, but its weird that two people were silenced. I'm inclined to think that one of them was a failed wolf attack, but not both. Maybe there is a silencing item floating around?

I also agree that Cyclops would probably have something to do with this.

It just seems like if the writeup is accurately portraying it, that the two silencings have something to do with each other.

I don't think it's all that weird. Maybe there's a silence item, and maybe a wolf attack failed in a way that silenced the wolf. *shrug* Maybe there's two silencing items. Maybe there's a silence item and a silencing role ability, and the failed wolf attack wasn't at all involved in the silencing.

You can spin it a thousand different ways and in the end, it all just depends on how drunk Devyn was when she created the roles/objects.

It would be nice if people would start throwing some info out about the objects, though. A role ability you wouldn't want to make public, but there's not as much reason to hide having had an object last night.

No objects for me.

I just remember how amusing the whole Orca avatar was. "But yer a damn killer whale! You must be evil!"

No objects for me.

No items here for me. I can't even think of any possible items, most of the x-men don't need items they have their own powers. Maybe the helmet magneto wears to block investigations? or their jet thing to move around/escape? Professor X's wheelchair to go for joyrides?

At least one of the mods doesn't care much for items in WW games, in addition to the whole mutants don't need no damn items thing, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were none or very few items.

I resemble that remark!

and actually amazingly there was no alcohol involved in the making of this WW game.

....there was talk of a stalker of sorts creeping outside mutants' windows in the middle of the night.....laser beams were seen in the sky seemly projecting some sort of information, but what?!
smiley-shocked030.gif
.... and two mutants were brought into the hospital with injuries that seemed to have come from large claws (was there a vicious cat on the loose!)...but....seemingly no deaths occurred.
LIS is right in that there are a lot of possibilities of silencing role/silencing item/failed attack combos, but for both to have injuries from claws... It seems like they are connected somehow. I don't know.

I haven't had any items yet, yesterday or today.

just thought of another one, cerebro to investigate?

Devyn mentioned something about items earlier so there has to be a few floating around.

Weren't you the one who dared me to say I was scared of killer whales so I had to lynch her?

As for game stuff...if this is based off the movies....I would think lasers were cyclops and stalker was mystique or nightcrawler and the cat claws are sabertooth....?

And I didn't have an item last night either, so it sounds like there aren't many in this game. though the "Professor X's wheelchair to go for joyrides?" would be fantastical.

Lynch Votes

none received

4 hours to deadline

So. Since nobody's spoken up with a good person to lynch (and assuming nobody does in the next four hours) ..... I propose this, because I really, really hate the first-day RNG lynch. It's annoying.

I propose that we pick someone (anyone) and that Dyachei use the veto.

The veto almost never gets used, so why not use it? Since the odds are in favor of lynching a villager, it makes more sense not to lynch, even though it gives the wolves two nights in a row. Since they weren't successful killing last night, we're a tiny bit ahead of the game already.

Yeah, that rings a bell - I think I did suggest it. Wasn't there a reason, though? It seems to me we wanted her lynched but had no real reason to get it started? Or she was a wolf but we didn't want to reveal how we knew? I forget.

If there's a wheelchair in the game and anyone sends it to me as a snarky "send the old fart the wheelchair" I will promptly kill them for realz.

Naw, save it and take modly vengeance in the Avengers game. ;)

As to your veto-the-lynch idea, that's a new one. It's true that it's usually useful to the wolves, at least in the games I've been involved with personally. And I have no idea who to lynch...

Haha I think we were wolves and we thought it was that point in the game where orca was suspicious enough again that we could get people to lynch her...

And that could be an interesting new thing to try--especially in this "shortened" game, and at this point sounds better than an RNG. I suppose Dyachei needs to have the final say about it though...

Why would we want to make her use it?

Sent from my DROID RAZR using SDN Mobile

Because no one knows who to lynch so it would buy us time and keep us from mistakenly lynching a good mutant/villager

resemble?

yeah....get it ;)

But can drunk devyn easily mod a game created by sober devyn?

snap! yeah they always say if you study drunk you should take the test drunk, perhaps this is the same with modding WW games, but then I will have to be sober until this game is over....not sure that is going to happen

since you guys are lame I will start the ball rolling....

lynch WTF

She has a WW boyfriend and suspiciously is not playing.

Poor WTF - bad day for her..... first lynch in a game she is not even playing and mod killed in the other WW game.
