Sounds awesome. Any advice on where to stay, transportation, good places to eat?

Definitely stay with a student host because:
1)its free
2)its fun
3)they can have a minor impact on the decision of the committee.
4)you can learn more about the school

The student hosts will tell you were to eat and might be willing to pick you up from the airport which is like 20 minutes away. There is also a train that runs from the airport to the campus (which takes like 40 minutes).

No, you'll be fine. I'd just talk to one of the students if you have an opportunity and let them know when you are coming and if they have any advice for you. Knowing someone there just makes you feel more comfortable. Everyone there is really nice and they will swarm you during their breaks to ask you if you need anything.

I hear that they may delay interview decisions if you apply to both schools

I'm really surprised by how people are getting invites within 2-3 days after being complete. I'm "hoping" this is the reason, especially after seeing a guy get invites from CCLCM and Case today despite being complete on Aug. 1st.

Then again, some people applying to both have received a Case interview. Aah.. who knows.

You just got complete a few weeks ago! The guy who was complete on Aug. 1 was complete three weeks before you. I know it's hard to wait, but you seriously need to chill. First come, first served, you know? This is why people always say to apply as early as you can. And yes, it will probably take longer to hear if you applied to both programs, because they both have to consider you before you get invited.

No, no one will care. Hosting interviewees is a favor that students (mostly first years) offer to be nice and help you save money/meet people. You shouldn't look at staying with a host as an extra source of stress. If you feel like you won't get to sleep and you don't mind springing for a hotel, by all means, stay at a hotel.

For those of you who do stay with hosts, try to be respectful of their time and understand that they're putting themselves out to help you. The hosts are all volunteers and don't get anything from the school for hosting you. Hosting interviewees can get stressful, especially as the interview season wears on, school gets busier, and the student hosts start getting burned out with having a parade of perfect strangers come stay on their floor or couch. Most of them will try to show you around and talk to you about the school, but some might be busy or stressed themselves, especially if you come at a time when there is a test coming up (for University students) or a portfolio due (for College students). So don't get upset if your host can't do things like entertain you or pick you up at the airport. Basically, just try to be as low maintenance as possible.

I applied to both programs...and just got an interview invite under the "university program correspondence" box for the university program. Does this mean I'll probably get rejected from the college program?

How have people who have gotten the college program invite received that invite?

Nevermind, got the CCLCM rejection letter in the snail mail today. Ah well, not sure if I wanted to go to class every day in a suit anyway...doesn't fit my personality. Though the rest of the program sounded amazing.

Thats too bad but don't let it get you down. Its just one school and it seems like a lot of schools reject for randomly/for no reason. Keep your hopes up, you could get into a better school.

How much does it matter if you are over on the essay limit? I am about 200-400 characters over on every essay. There's no real way for me to shorten it. Big deal or will I be rejected for not following their request?

You'd better find a way to shorten it...it comes off as lazy and careless if you dont.

I checked my status today and saw that Case has finally received all of my letters of rec. It also notes that my secondary has been submitted and my fee has been paid. However, it says that my application still has not been marked complete. I can't figure out why. Did this happen to anyone else? I don't know if they are just being slow at updating the website or if something went wrong. I don't want to call and harass the admissions office without good reason, so I thought I'd check here first. Thanks!

The same thing happened to me. After about a week, they marked my app as complete. I was invited for an interview two days later.

I was over by a little bit too. I was a little worried when I submitted, but two days later I got an interview! I think it's okay. My advice would be to keep it as close to the limit as possible, but don't sacrifice content. Good luck!!

I would just give it a couple of days, but then after that I'd call and just politely inquire. Sometimes they might just forget to mark it complete and then your app can be just sitting there.

I just finished interviewing. It was a lot of fun, and I think this was my best faculty interview yet. The student interviewer was pretty cool too. We tangented and I enjoyed that.

Ugh...how do you get ahold of their admissions people? I've called at multiple times throughout the day (all 3 of them), all of them have their answering machines on/do not answer their phones. Left a message but to no avail.

I've already tried using their online messaging system...no dice. Then I accidentally used the same form and sent a message to the technical support person..guess how fast they replied? 2 HOURS LATER!

But, I do know that any of you that got the joint e-mail in the past few days should call and schedule ASAP! They only have openings in Dec for back-to-back interviews at both programs. The earliest I could get was Dec. 1st 2nd. Good luck all!

Oddly enough...I was in the batch that never got my secondary invite from case until I emailed them. Then I was complete 9/4 got an interview 9/10 to my email but never got the email. I received a follow up email though which alerted me to the fact that I had an interview invite sitting there!! Anyway, does Case have a student-host program or am I left to my own devices to find a student-host?

They have a list of student hosts. You can only see it after you've set up your interview date. I emailed one MSI on the list but haven't heard back yet.

hmmm...I scheduled an interview...but my page stayed the same (as in I don't see a confirmation nor a link with student hosts). Time for a call!

For me, it took a little while before I got another "your status has changed" email after scheduling my interview. Then when I went to the iApply website, I clicked on "You have been scheduled for an interview" and then it gives you a link to the student host list. But I guess you could call too.

No, they have plenty of CCLCM dates left, it's just that Case's University Program is filled until December for either Monday (for a Tuesday CCLCM interview) or Friday (for a Thursday CCLCM). If you're local, I'm pretty sure they have available dates since they don't offer that many interviews to start with.

Does Case have interview dates in Oct/Nov for people who don't care about having CCLCM interview on a separate time period?
