Nope, no status change. Just says "under review" and has been that way for about a week.
 
Hey,

Anyone who interviewed at GW; do you remember the name of the new interview coordinator? I don't see where it was listed in the folder and i really wanted to contact her about something. thanks!
 
Got interview invite this afternoon for 10/17. 👍

Secondary Received Email: 8/14
Complete Email: 8/22
Interview Invite Email: 9/17 at 5 PM

Took over a month from when I submitted the secondary, so hang in there if you are still waiting!
 
Just so everyone knows...don't depend too much on that GW status page! My status page never changed once. I always had the "thanks for submitting your secondary. if you haven't already done so, please submit your LORs." message. I was finally complete today, yet the status page still says that hehe.

No, people were getting another status page in between the one I mentioned and their completion date. I never got any status change. Oh well!
 
I was complete on Aug. 25th and I am still waiting to hear something too. Granted, I took the Aug. 15th MCAT and the scores just came out yesterday so while my GW status has stated that I am "under review" since the last week of August, I don't really know how I could have been until my MCAT scores came out.

Either way, I really hope I hear something positive soon!!!! Good luck!
 
Just got an interview invite from George Washington late this afternoon--and I'm totally psyched.

I was complete early August and still nothing, so I called the other day and asked what was up. They said I was reviewed once and no decision was made so its waiting to be reviewed a second time. Maybe something similar is what is holding you guys up!
 
The status page isn't working for me...anyone else have the same problem or is it my computer?

I submitted my application and LORs around 8/20, got the 'application received' email on 8/28, got the 'application complete' email on 9/11, and was invited to interview on 9/17.

For the people who are "under review." Is that a different status from this message? ""We have received all the necessary credentials including letters of recommendation in order for your application to be reviewed. While the committee does its best to review applications in a timely manner, please be aware that it may ve a while until you hear from us again. We greatly appreciate your patience during the application process."

I got the complete email about a week ago and my status has been like this since.
 
Have been on this for more than a month now:

Your application is currently under review.Please note that although this site is updated weekly, your status may remain unchanged for several weeks as your application goes through a comprehensive review process.

your message will say: your app is under review, when you're actually under review. it's different than the message you have.
 
I'm very tempted to call. I was complete since 8/26. I know others have been completed longer though..

The site says it could take from 2-6 weeks to respond.

My status changed today from "Your application is currently under review" to "Your application is complete and under review by the committee. Correspondence concerning the status of your application will be emailed to you shortly."

Is this an early warning that I'm being rejected?!? Or am I just being negative... 😕 I hope it's an interview invite and not a rejection!!! Ahhh... i don't know what to think... :scared:

haha calm down! It sounds like instead of being in a stack of apps "under review", you're actually under review! I don't think you're being rejected at all, it still sounds very neutral. Good Luck!!

I've been under review for at least 6-7 weeks now and complete for almost 8 weeks. I'm starting to think that is a silent rejection...?
 
I called yesterday and heard I was reviewed once and am now on hold, to be reviewed later.

Yeah I've been under review for 5 weeks. They said it's cause the first reviewer didn't make a decision so it's waiting to be reviewed again. Grr.

They get 5000+ applicants, I would be happy to hear something even 2 months after I'm complete.

Lol, i'm hoping to hear something back by July then. That's crazy, our applications are never going to be close to standing out. There's no way for them to seriously consider every applicant.
 
I was complete on July 1st. I still have the "Under review" message. It all depends on who reviews your file and if he/she likes you when they do that. Then, you will be either invited or put on hold--you only see the under review message.
Anyway, i don't even care about GWU because they only accept about 1/10th of the people they interview, which is not good at all if you know what i mean. Thus, interview really doesn't mean much at this school. But, obviously, it is better than no interview. Also, MCAT is the most important thing in GWU...just a head up...

I don't think it is either...look at the people that have gotten interviews so far (atleast the ones that post MDapps) and they all have average MCATs like 29-31. Maybe I'm crazy but it almost seems as if they are holding off from interviewing stronger stat applicants in favor of lower stat/stronger EC. Don't know if this is true but I've heard that schools with lower averages like GW, Drexel, etc. will not give interviews to higher stat applicants till later because they dont want to give their spot to a candidate that will go somewhere else when there are numerous others that would die to go there. Its probably bs though.

you were right!! i got an invite today and i'm sooooo excited!! 😀😀 GW is one of my top choices and i have been complete since late july, so i was going crazy all this time waiting for a response... whew! glad to know i still have a chance at GW!!

Yea, same here...the guy said "its a good thing don't worry" lol. He also said that its what happens to most of the applicants. So I don't know why that's such a good thing...no one has been rejected yet, right?
 
Why would they screen off the primary when they can get all that money from the secondary?:idea:

Dear 4Health,

This is because the applicants with the higher MCATs, and better stats in general, get accepted to sevearl different schools many of which are not only much better schools than GWU but also cost much less as well. Therefore, at the end of the game, GWU ends up with an average of 30.
As I said earlier, it al depends on the person who reviews your file and his/her mood...😉

My status hadn't changed for weeks, so I finally decided to give them a call today to find out what is going on. Turns out that I am on hold. 🙁

did you specifically ask if you were on hold? just wondering---i called and they were just like, "you are complete and there is no specific timeline for after that. you'll be emailed if invited to interview". she didn't say i'm on hold, but i feel like it😳
