Does anyone know how to submit grades that i just received from a summer course? I have already doe my primary app and was hoping that on the secondary I could submit the new grade. Should I just mail them a transcript?

Thanks!!

Scan the transcript and attach it to an e-mail. They will print it and add it to your file. I applied to NYMC last cycle and this was the procedure.

Did anyone have a quicker secondary app processing time than 4 weeks???? And how long after being processed did you receive an interview invite or rejection?

I submitted mine Aug 8, and haven't been processed yet...I'm just so anxious...errrrrrrr

I submitted my application on July 10th, my LORs on July 16th and was marked complete July 22nd. Then I received an interview invite on August 2nd.
However, as we are coming to the peak application time I'm sure it'll take longer due to the shear number of applications. Hang in there!

i submitted app on 7/10, LORs in on 8/6, marked compelte on 8/18 and am still waiting for a interview, hopefully

What all does NYMC's status page list? I sent in my secondary at the beginning of August, and all I'm seeing on my status page is that they 1.) got my AMCAS 2.)sent me a 2ndary 3.)received my secondary fee

Since they don't list any of my LoRs, am I to assume that my app hasn't been processed yet? is it a 4 week wait only after I've been deemed complete?

What constitutes peak application time? I thought it wasn't 'til closer to the deadlines?

Correct. It takes up to 4 weeks to receive the complete message. Mine took 3.5.

No, I think peak application time is now through September...there's only a very few people applying near deadlines.

For credit hours do they mean semester hours, or would my quarter credit amount suffice?

Anyone else having trouble with the major letter they want? Any advice how to get around it?

You should definitely make sure all of your LOR's were received. This could be the reason for the delay. Stay on top of things.

mine doesn't say anything should i call?

Guys, please account for the fact that I am a reapplicant to NYMC. I may have been complete earlier as a result of updating a pre-existing file. Also, I called NYMC this morning for another reason and was told the ADCOM is "on vacation."

I would only call after the expected timeframe has been expired for 5 business days. NYMC takes their time, but they rarely make mistakes. Keep on top of things and remember that they are getting swamped right now.

Good luck to everyone in this thread! I really like NYMC and hope to land another interview. I will keep this thread updated with any new information I hear.

they take their sweet sweet time. took me at least 2 weeks to be complete after my last item was in.

i submitted everything by 7/16 and it says that my letters have been received but i don't have the complete message

Tried to call their number, but I'm getting the "Number is not in service" message.

The number i called was :

917 594 4507

What's up with that.... my secondary has not been process and it has been a month (submitted 7/29, LORs were sent 8/20)....

You never know if the mistake will be made on your app. Last year, they "forgot" to download my LOR's for like 5 weeks. I should have probably checked earlier, but if I hadn't called, I would have never been complete. Oh yea, and they marked me complete at my later date even though I should have been complete weeks earlier. Lame.

Good luck to you all!

The number is 914 594 5407.

Also, they were closed on many Fridays last cycle.

On the application it asks for graduate evaluator, course name + number, and then credits--Does it mean the number of credits for this course or your total number of credits in graduate school? Thanks!!

i think if that person taught you in a class, you give the course name and how many credits that class was?

I just called it and it works.

I just called and they are not in service again... arghhh

Hey, if anyone signs up for the 10/16 interview, PM me! It would be sweet to meet a fellow SNDer before I put my life on the line at NYMC! 🙄

i'm confirmed to interview on 10/20. thankfully, i'm just 2 hours away so this should be a quick interview trip unlike some of the others.

Lucky you! I'm flying in from Oregon...but I'm looking forward to hanging out in NYC for a few days, so I'm not gonna complain!

wow that is far! yeah it will be great to be able to explore nyc. it's just starting to get stressful to have to schedule these trips in the middle of the semester, with all the work piling up. i'm actually scheduling my interviews so that i stay at each place for the shortest amount of time haha.

good luck to you!

Makes sense. This is my first invite, however, so I'm soakin it up and calling it a small vacation!

Congrats to everyone who has gotten an interview so far! 😀

This is my first invite as well, and to say the least: I'm stoked!

However, trying to plan the trip as someone who has never traveled to New York before I feel really daunted by the modes of transportation in and about the area.

If I plan to fly into JFK, how do I get to Grand Central? I think there was something about buses from the airport to the train station...then I would need to go from the train station to...White Plains (according to NYMC's website)...then from taxi to either my hotel/NYMC directly....

Any help is appreciated!!

I'm also curious about whether or not it would be feasible to see the major attractions of New York in about an afternoon+evening or so. I'm not looking to see everything, just some of the places like Times Square, etc. Like most people in this thread, I'm going to treat this as a mini vacation.🙂

Splotchy:

There is a direct bus that goes from JFK to the front doors of Grand Central (GC). It is a few dollars more than the other options, but I found it to be the easiest and most care-free. It is a nice opportunity to relax and look over things. Ask about it at the info kiosk after you get off your plane. You will be directed to an outdoor bus stop and purchase a ticket from an employee curb-side.

When at GC, you will take the White Plains Express to the White Plains Station. From the White Plains Station you can get a cab to the NYMC admissions building. The admissions building is on your left after you pass the hospital parking, just before the apartments which will be on your right.

I chose these methods of travel for their convenience and to limit stress. Allow plenty of time and expect delays during peak travel times/rush hour.

I submitted first week of July, letters in around the same time as you two and I hadn't been marked complete as of this morning. I called 'em earlier today and they ended up marking it complete on the spot.

The number on their website is not correct!!! I had to check the MSAR for the correct number...

flipz got it right, its..

914-594-4597

I was also marked complete after calling them! Sometimes it takes effort on our part to have it get processed..even though we paid $100 for them to process it..

I called the 4507 number this morning and it worked. the person I talked to said my app would be complete by the end of the week...

You have got to love a med school that is quick to take your money, is almost impossible to get a hold of, and is waiting for you to finally get through before they mark your app complete.

WOOO! Got an interview invite from NY Med today!

got an interview invite today too!!!

Something strange happened. When I initially sent my LORs, they said they had to be on official letterhead. So, lately, I have tracked down my writers to get them to redo their letters. Everything was set, and I check my status on NYMC's website right before I send the letters, and I have been complete since 9/8! What gives? Did they get tired of waiting on my letters, or did someone just not care about official letterhead?
