everyone ... if you think your LORs have been sent in CALL! because I submitted my secondary and all my stuff by 7/16 but they didn't mark me complete. unfortunately i didn't realize that until now. i called them and they marked me complete immediately.
 
Has anyone sent an update letter yet?

I'm thinking of sending one. Who should I address it to? I did some research and people say that it needs to be addressed to the Dean or Director Admissions. I can't locate that information on the website.

Any ideas?
 
Hey guys, so I got my invite on September 3rd and didn't schedule my interview until today (September 13th). Stupidly, I thought I saw the school was NYCOM (because I applied to like 3 D.O. schools too) and decided I would wait to decide if I even wanted to go to the interview.

Anyway, I'm now scheduled for an interview on November 20th...do you think I did a massive disservice to myself by waiting 10 days to schedule and as a result getting a semi-late interview? I know mid-November isn't all that late, but I could have had an interview probably around the beginning to middle of October 😡
 
NYMC has open spots in the class up until the last interview date in April. You will be fine.
 
I got an interview invite via email!

But when I checked to see the dates, I got this message:

"There are no interview dates available at the current moment. Please check back later to schedule your interview date."

lol that just happened to me too, earlier today i checked and it had dates all the way in december, like dec 2/12/14 or seomthing like that, and then i check now and i got the same message as you. i was expecting a calendar or soemthing...
 
Does anyone know what exactly do they look for?

I've been sitting on the "no interview dates available message" for a few days after my invite now...how long until something opened up for you guys?
 
I got an interview invite about a week ago, and when I first checked, there were 4 dates given to me. I waited a day, and when I checked the second time, there were 5 dates! I guess it's an ever changing thing with NYMC. For all those still waiting, I would count on a December date for sure, possibly even January since most ADCOMs take a winter break. I decided on 11/25, maybe I will see some of you...?
 
I just got an interview!!!!! And I'm so happy 🙂)))) 😛😛😛

There were 8 available interview dates from 12/8 - 12/18 when I went to schedule mine.

congrats!!! if you don't mind sharing, what were your stats and when were you complete?
 
😕😕I've been complete (LORs and all) since 8/07/08 and haven't heard a single word from NYMC. When I call, they just tell me that I'm under review and can't give me any other info🙁

I was complete on 8/25, my MCAT is in low 30s range, my GPA is over 3.9. I was really worried about my MCAT score, which is obviously not very competitive, but so far I've got 3 interviews, one rejection and one preinterview hold, and I applied to A LOT of schools, so overall I think I should be in good shape 🙂

I was complete in mid-October and recieved an II in February last year.

Late March Interview -> May waitlist -> August 12 rejection

Keep in mind, NYMC interviews for ACTUAL spots even on the last interview date. People from my interview day got in without any waitlist participation.

Thank you! Yes, I hope things work out this cycle. I just wish NYMC would show me some love.

To (hopefully) get early interview invites and possibly decisions. Except most people are getting their apps in early, so it defeats the purpose a bit. C'est la vie.

Simply strategy and good sense, in my opinion. The earlier you are complete, the earlier you have a chance to interview; therefore, more spots are available to you which increases your chances for admission. If you wait until January, many spots may already be filled and your application will need to be significantly superior to the remaining applicants in order to obtain an acceptance.

Just turn it in as soon as possible. There aren't any essays, so it shouldn't take long at all. I submitted mine the second week of July and I only got complete yesterday due to an LOR screw-up on their part that was extremely frustrating. So send it in soon to avoid delays.
 
Are most of the interviews already out, how long does it take for them to verify?

Same thing happened to me.....
 
IIRC, my day ended ~2pm last March.
 
Aside from the prison near campus and the fact that you can do 3rd/4th year rotations in the Big Apple, does anyone know of anything unique about this school not found on their website?

Me too, Fuzzywuz! I think all the dates are filled up until January. I scheduled mine for 1/8. So excited, I really like NYMC...and there will probably be snow there when I go! 😀

Congrats guys!! Wow, these dates seem to really be filling up. I love NYMC and want an interview so bad.

When does the committee first meet? (for reviewing interviews)

I was offered an interview today. I scheduled it for January 13. Good Luck everyone!!! WOOOHOOO 8 am continental breakfast at NYMC!
 
I got my invite today too! I scheduled for 1/13, which is kind of nice since I won't have to worry about it for a while. Plus, that will be a long, expensive trip, and maybe I will have an acceptance by then so I can just let this one go.

Got my interview invite yesterday, but i had trouble finding the link to schedule the interview date. So, I'm scheduled to interview on 1/15. I was tripping out because I was curious why the only dates that were available are in January. But reading the forum, I see why.

So, for the 2nd time in my short life, I get to celebrate my birthday in NEW YORK! Going to bring that Cali flava, ha
 
If interviewing after 10/15, how many days after the interview does NYMC usually notify you of an acceptance, a rejection or a waitlist?

I read somewhere they take up to 10 weeks. Not sure about an average though, or how big of a cushion the 10 weeks is.

Can anyone tell me how long it takes for NYMC to send you a secondary after you have submitted? I just added NYMC to my AMCAS two days ago b/c I am starting to get desperate. I want to apply ASAP to have the best chance of getting an interview. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I will definitely give them a call tomorrow about it though.

i say give it a week or two after amcas fully certifies your primary
