i am 99% sure i am going to NYU... unless some school offers me a full ride or something. 🙂

Congrats ar2388!! I remember you wanted to go there badly (or slightly badly?) hahah. From that tone, I'm guessing NYU didn't offer you full ride.

ive no idea. i havent gotten teh letter yet.. haha but i doubt it. the email jsut said that a letter of acceptance is being sent to my permanent address

apart from tis excellent reputation and whatnot is that its is in NYC and specifically downtown... my interviewer was also so nice! my interview lasted way long than 30 min...

Congrats ar2388!!!! That is awesome and maybe we'll be classmates. My dad actually met me for lunch during work and brought the letter and an NYU SOM shirt that he had picked up on the way. I could barely speak when I opened the letter because it was a small envelope with only two sheets of paper inside. I remember how your interview went so well that we had thought that your interviewer was going to invite you out to lunch!

Congrats to you and everyone who was accepted and those who are still waiting....goood luckkk!!!!!!!

Got my email today! I was out snowboarding and it was a pleasant surprise when I got home. ngkats, we interviewed the same day, dunno if I saw you.
 
Also, I forgot to ask (I also don't know if it's been mentioned yet...), does NYU have a second look weekend?
 
So this may have been asked somewhere in the last 12 pages, but I don't want to look through the entire page, but does anyone know what the numbers are for interviewed/accepted? I've found the matriculated numbers, but I'm curious to know the accepted numbers.

Thanks internet, the answers were readily available on the NYU website: 12% Interviewed, 56% of those interviewed accepted.

Applications Received 7,320 Interviews Granted 924 Students Accepted 529 2008 Entering MD Students 166

So, just took a look at your mdapps and I'm pretty sure we did meet (I remember that you went to University of Washington). I was in the cafeteria in the morning, before the interview, and we talked for a bit. (I went to Notre Dame, if that jogs your memory).

Good to hear you got in!

Just got accepted today at 8:50 (central time). So excited!!!! Interviewed 11/12/08.
 
i got accepted today too!! def a top choice i cant believe it!...interviewed mid october
 
anyone know which average mcat score for nyu is correct. on the website it says 32 but AAMC reports it as 35...

The MSAR gives the average for acceptances. The website gives the matriculant average.
 
msar gives the median, not the average, no?
 
Is there any hope to people who have interviewed during the oct-nov period (Nov 21st for me) and haven't heard back? I wonder if tomm. will will see some more e-mails, as perhaps they are just doing them in stages, or even alphabetically for all we know. Any insight people?

I interviewed first week of November and haven't heard diddly. Which sucks.

What I am really wondering is, are they accepting everyone they plan to accept from the people who interviewed early enough to have a decision right now? IE, are there any deferrals.... or does lack of acceptance at this point = waitlist or rejection... hmmmmmmm
