Yeah - because as a Canadian I am not eligible for federal loans, etc. and they have different requirements for us. But I was certain I could still pay it through bank loans, etc. and it turns out that I can't after all. Ah, I really wanted to go to SLU 🙁 (and will be doing a masters instead)

Ah I see, that makes more sense. I'm sorry that really sucks! My boyfriend and I are recent SLU grads... they did that to him as well since he's an international student, but he was able to get all the loans up front. Tons of debt though. 🙁

Well, lucky for him! I wonder if they ever make exceptions to this rule - because my other plan at the moment is to simply get a Masters and do everything over again...

lola if i were in your shoes I would just take the debt and go to med school now. Too many variables for another app year, plus you will be paying tuition at your masters program anyways.

good luck on your decision, im sure it was hard to turn it down.

Yes, I will be going to SLU and withdrawing from my other waitlists. And I did send multiple letters of interest.

Hang in there guys, this application process is brutal and unfair, but worth it when you finally get in!!

Hey congrats!! I'm glad to see that the waitlist is still moving! That leaves some glimmer of hope... time for yet another letter of intent. Is there something I'm not saying?!?!

3.5 overall, 3.5 sci 33mcat

interviewed late feb, waitlisted early april. @ regional interview.

I thought my interview wasnt very good (bad nerves) but apparently good enough

and i dont remember if i got an confirmation email...i dont think so. i think i emailed them to make sure they got it.

I would call the admissions office. Not only because they have the answer to that question, but also because they'll know you are still interested...

I called the admissions office last week and they told me Aug 2nd (the first day of orientation).

Hi, I just recieved an e-mail telling me I didn't get a spot for the upcoming year, basically that I didnt cut it. Did anyone else get this email?

that is what I received around the time you posted here. Seeing as the orientation begins on Monday I was actually surprised that it took this long to be rejected. I don't know if that means we were close to the top or not....

It would be really inconsiderate if they just neglect to tell some of us that their class is full- anyone who hasn't gotten the email called the office to see what is going on? I seem to always get the standard answer but others have actually gotten info over the phone...

Funny. I got an admission brochure for SLU randomly in the mail today after already applying and completeing secondary. Maybe they like me! Lol...
