super excited for my interview this wednesday (1/27). anyone else gonna be interviewing then? i know ishchayill will be as well.

Now I know who you are... I was the guy two seats away from you at lunch. 😎

I was wondering what the interview day format is, are the interviews usually in the morning before the tour/lunch ect., or are they in the afternoon? Or is it different for everyone?

MUNNNIES 🙂

I cant believe the school which is so well known for being picky with applicants actually gives out MUNNIES. HAHA

lol what are you talking about? I have no idea what this post means.

I thought BU didn't hand out scholarships/grants.

APPRECIATION RIVER. WHAT ARE YOU DOING? TRANSCRIBING OUR SECRET LANGUAGE FOR THESE HUMAN BEINGS?

This shalt remain our secret till I breathe my last breath.

*wheeze*

I know earlier in the thread, someone had mentioned that BU doesn't like letters of intent too early in the process. When does everyone think would be a good time to send one? (I was deferred till March for a decision post interview)

I'd say it depends on how far along you are in your application cycle. If you applied early, completed a bunch of interviews and don't expect any more, then go ahead and send one. Let them know you've seen other programs and they're still your number 1.

If you applied late or still have a few more interviews to go, you probably shouldn't write an LOI.

If I were an admissions officer, I'd look at when you submitted your AMCAS and secondary to estimate how far along you are in the interview process and judge whether the letter's sincere or you're jumping the gun.

+1

That bannie girl is really annoying! Are all Canadians like this?

Nope. Its just me.😎

Canadians are really nice people in general.

I wouldnt want to give Canadians a bad name, I'm not Canadian technically too.

So give the country that groomed me for this opportunity some credit.😎

I feel for you though, being so overwhelmingly serious all your life is going to lead to cardiovascular disease. Take care!

Just because we do not think you are funny, and are blindingly annoying, does not, logically, indicate that we are humorless.

Might want to brush up on your logical thinking skills before med school.

Heh, its where my avatar "lives".
I decided to change it to a fictional location because some people were starting to stalk me (like how some people on here actually bothered to remember where I live) quite honoured tho 😀

Doubt I would need that too much. Thanks for the heads up tho. If I do go to Boston University (which I suppose is your school), I'll remember to take up some logical thinking classes with some of the munnies, or maybe I'll just continue to annoy the blindingly humorous people. 👍

Thanks for the support !

Oh my, this girl doesn't know when to stop. Come talk to me when you get into Mayo.

I have no idea why you insist on calling me a girl. I did not get into Mayo, but if you really want to, you can always come visit me. Remember to bring some chocolates or you might have to live outdoors for the night. 🙄

lol, bannie, I didn't mean to offend you. I just think you could tone down a bit in regards your weird language.

Yeah, I was just about to return here and declare a peace.

Anyway, I'll probably still have that weird language in me sometimes, but I do hope that it does not annoy you as much anymore. 😳
And I apologize for all those bickering, I look back and think I probably could have just ignored it... but then I was kinda upset that my "fun" was being dampened... But as usual, flaws have to be sorted out slowly but SURELY.

Hope we are on better terms now 🙂

Congratulations on Mayo. That is one good school!
Didnt even get the opportunity to visit it. (I'm just not spectacular enough).

And to put it in normal words,

Yes c17h is right, I got a scholarship. (If you want to know more about it, pm me, because I dont want to create more tension in this thread)
BU apparently does give out scholarships, and I hope those of you who need/deserve it get your hands on one too. (It is to be honest, a big honour, coming from a school which is often known for his high application numbers..)

BU is a good school. They actually care.
For I can tell you, in that supplemental application this is what I wrote.

I want to go to Boston because I want to be near the coast, where I can see the sea and have seafood.
I think Boston is a good fit, because they care (letting us know that the "supplemental" essay was really supplemental and all the other random stuff that I would spout usually 😉) and cause I do care too.

Alright, peace out guys, and good luck with the rest of the season!

You're OK when you talk normally!!

truce!

Hey, did anyone on here interview this past Friday, the 29th? I was there and loved it! Now I just have to wait 2 more months for a decision. 🙁

2 months?! Is that really how long it takes?

Yeah, they told us last week in March. Its so far away!

Imagine the people who interviewed in October and got deferred in January. The end of March will mark 6 months of waiting, holy peppermint pancakes with powdered sugar batman!

Unfortunately, I don't have to imagine. I just have to live with it 😉

yeah that's where i am with a couple of non-rolling schools. drives me effing nuts.

Wow, an invite 8 days before your interview? I hope you're local!
Congrats though 🙂

no rejection, no interview invite .... 😡

Yeah, I'm pretty mad about the lack of news...kinda shows BU doesn't care.

I worked hard at BU undergrad (not to mention all the money I spent going there) and I happen to think I'm pretty well qualified to get into BU so I don't understand the lack of alma mater love. I think BU may actually discriminate against their own, despite what Zamansky (pre-med office director) told me.

Anyone else who is a BU alum (not 7 yr med) get snubbed?

Thanks! I know right, luckily I'm local. Very unexpected!

I received an interview invite today however I'm not so lucky to be local. I'm coming from Florida, however, I'm definitely still coming. Congrats and good luck! 😀

I was complete on 1/4. (Yes, I waited until the last possible minute and completed it in Boston/Logan airport before I came home after Christmas). I also sent in a LOI. It got there today and I received my interview invite today. Hmmm...coincidence?
