I think you meant that we told you this school definitely WASN'T for everyone. 😀I think they tell you that it's definitely for everyone and I appreciated that they let people know instead of being like PBL >> or we lect're and we better during the interview day.
So seriously, that's true. I do think there are students in my program who would have been happier in a more traditional curriculum with tests and grades, and maybe also a school that provides a syllabus or online lectures where you can go spend every day studying at Starbucks (or at home in your pajamas!). This isn't the kind of program where you can sit in the back of a lecture hall and just veg. Students are expected to attend all seminars as well as PBL sessions, and participate actively. Even though we don't have tests and grades, it's still med school, and it's still a lot of work.
A lot of you guys are going to have multiple schools to choose among, and it's important to be honest with yourself about what is the best learning environment for you. If you don't buy into the CCLCM curriculum, you really won't be happy here.
The official word is that there are still a few more to give out. Good luck!Do you guys know if CCLCM is still giving out interviews?
I would really like one.
Yes. We actually have anatomy for two years, and the sessions correlate with the organ blocks during second year also.I had one more question- since you have anatomy all year, does the topic in your anatomy class directly relate to what you are learning in your seminars/PBL?
If you want, PM me your interview dates and gender, and I'll see what I can do.I'm having trouble finding hosts for UP and CCLCM...no one seems to be replying. Sent emails to 2 or 3 CCLCM and about 5 to UP, and have waited for up to a week for some.
Are students still on break or in the middle of exams? I can't find the academic calendars Or am I asking too soon or expecting a reply too quickly? (Interviewing at the end of the month)
Worst case scenario is hotel right? $60 a night is not bad compared to prices in other cities...but considering that 2 nights in a hotel is the cost of my plane ticket... :\
