Ok ok. I know this sounds bad, but they just handed me a pre-interview rejection, and it was the funniest opening to a rejection I've ever read:
"Dear BBender716,
I am writing to share what I believe will be disappointing news. The Admissions Committee of Dartmouth Medical School has considered with care your application for admission. Unfortunately we are unable to offer you a place in our next entering class.
We very much appreciate the time and effort you have spent crafting and compiling your application, and the interest you have shown in DMS. Our small entering class size dictates that we must limit our acceptances to a frustratingly small proportion of those seeking acceptance here. I can assure you that your application was considered with thoroughness and care despite this disappointing outcome.
We do hope that you will find the opportunities you seek for medical school and beyond, and appreciate the chance we have had to learn something about you.
Sincerely,
X"
the rest of it was really kind, but damn, you think it will be disappointing news? It's a pretty good bet, lol
