No one knows about 11/13 interview reviews???

I would think that the 11/13 interviews would be reviewed at the same time as the 11/12 ones, but that hasn't always been the case (see ksmi). It may also be that your interviewer has not gotten back to the committee yet...I think the only way you can be sure is if you call the office.

Interviewing tomorrow 😱

anyone got any good last minute advice?

This seems very strange that of all the interviewees in the first half of Nov, only 2 SDNers have had any correspondence (but congrats to them!) My guess is that we just haven't been review yet (Nov 9 interview here). Either that or there is an absurdly large number of waitlist/defer/reject letters heading our way. I find the former most likely.

Fellow early Nov interviewee hoping you are right :scared:

yay, good luck! 🙂 👍...it has been my only interview so far so I can't compare it to anything, but I didn't feel it was very stressful at all. The questions they ask are pretty standard (check out the interview feedback page) and they are very conversational. Have a great time and relax, its just Hopkins 😉.

If you have the chance though, I would definitely recommend going to the meet and greet with the MS1's tonight...they're awesome and definitely help put you at ease.

Good luck! :luck:

Omfg that is sooo wierd yet awesome that hopkins is your only interview and acceptance 🙂

haha yea, although I tend to classify it as lucky/fortunate yet awesome 🙂. I got my apps in kinda late (though Hopkins was one of the first I got done) so thats probably partially why I haven't heard back from other schools yet...

To bmelover: Hopkins does reject both post secondary and post interview. If you haven't heard then you're still in the running. Good luck :luck:

It's been much much more quiet than I thought it would be by this time in Dec. Here's to news this week!
:highfive:

(I just wanted to use a cool emoticon. Dunno if it applies here...)

I also got waitlisted by snail mail recently. I know last year they only took 3 off the waitlist, but all we can do now is hope right, keepthefaith?

definitely. i absolutely loved hopkins, but thankfully i've also really liked other schools, too.

good luck to both of us and everyone! we'll end up where we need to.

So, I broke down and called just now, and I was told that the committee will be meeting on 11/13 applicants this week, even though 11/12 decisions have been sent already. :luck:

i'm 11/13 as well. thought i was rejected for sure, well at least not yet.

great news 🙂...I had a feeling that something was holding them up since so many people had not heard back yet. Good luck everyone! :luck:

Does Hopkins give some preference to in-state applicants?

Good to know, thanks! I'm an 11/6 with no news yet...

I actually don't think they do. The only data I've seen though is from the MSAR and from this website http://www.eduers.com/Medical/Maryland/Johns_Hopkins_University_School_of_Medicine.html

I the only thing that they may have considered was the date they invited me to interview. I was invited on 10/28 for an 11/12 interview, which seems like semi-short notice, but I'm not sure when other people were notified either so that's just a guess.

They interview 28% of IS vs 16% OOS. I don't know if that constitutes a preference or not.

You're right, I actually didn't really look at that. I was only looking at percentages accepted after interview which are basically the same, but I guess maybe IS does give some advantage?

Oh Hopkins, I <3 joo. Gimme an interview plx!

Accepted today via phone call! Interviewed mid November 🙂

I didn't do the "If applicable essay". Did anyone get an interview without doing the essay?

yes, they sent me another snail mail confirming they received my matriculation agreement

Does that mean you're going to Hopkins for sure, Jla? If so, great choice (though I'm sure you already knew that). Put in a good word for me next year 🙂

no news so im guessing that is bad news. 🙁

haha i haven't 100% decided yet...you can hold multiple acceptances up until may 15 🙂

I don't believe I did this essay either, and received an interview and acceptance (albeit like 2 months after I was complete). Wouldn't worry about this at all.

11/13 interview, accepted yesterday. Still rather in shock. 😀

sooo I've been complete since 9/17 and still no news...any insight as to whether I should keep hoping for an interview?

So what's the latest completion that has an interview? How about last year?

(I was complete in November  and am now waiting)

Did they stop rejecting? I think I was complete in October and would love to just get a rejection. I find it frustrating so many places don't do it!

I was complete in September and still no news. I'd actually rather be outright rejected than interview and then get rejected. I wish there was a way to gauge your chances.

Yeah I have also been complete since around then, maybe even august if i remember correctly. I have heard Hopkins has sent out waves of pre-interview rejection letters but have not received one myself. I almost wonder if we are just sitting in a hold pile for re-review until the spots run out. Basically just waiting for a rejection letter although it seems pretty mean that they make us wait 6+ months before hearing a single thing. Makes you wonder if they interview spots they give out this late are just for the waiting list anyway.

For people who have been accepted, do they confirm the receipt of the agreement to matriculate form? I sent it in 2 weeks ago and my deadline for receipt is this Fri. Do they email? I'm super paranoid. Please help!

Yes they confirm. Snail mail response. If you are in doubt, do call and check and congrats on the acceptance! 🙂

I just called and found out they got my statement of intent. They say they send a snail-mail response in 7-10 days. I would recommend calling Director Mazza directly and leaving a message if you don't connect. This worked for me 🙂

Complete in September and still no news. I sent an email asking about my status, but JHU didn't respond to one of my previous emails and I wouldn't be surprised if they ignore this one.

Maybe they've rejected me and the letter got lost in the mail. I do hate snail mail.
