Mr meowmeow, my interview date was on 1/22. What crywin and mexicochangedme said sounds right. I think they are sending out acceptances as the seats are legitimately available and it seems like they take their time making the decision, I also think the adcom only meets once a month.

Still waiting to hear from UW, should hear this week, and then I have an OHSU interview on the 6th...UW is still my #1 choice but I would be more than happy attending LLU!! who knows what God's plan for me is, He obviously does but I have no idea lol!!
 
This message is for those hopeful that were still expecting an interview invitation like me 😳

I called the admissions office today and they said that a decision was made on my file and I should be expecting a letter in the mail this week. I am 99.9% sure it is a rejection letter so... yeah... anyways, I just wanted to let you guys know that pre-interview rejections were sent out this week.

I hope there are people out there that survives it and good luck to everyone. I would have LOVED to attend a Christian medical school but I guess it wasn't in the books for me. Congratulations to all the accepted students!
 
Yeah I'm going to accept I really like the school and have a lot of friends there. I also prefer it to UC Irvine🙄

hey :hello:, i have some questions for you guys, i'd be psyched if some of you could take a stab at them. the student i stayed with was INCREDIBLY negative about llu 🙁, and i'd appreciate a more balanced view of the school 🙂.

what's the curriculum going to be like for ms1's this upcoming year? at my interview everyone said the curriculum was changing but didn't say what the final product would be. will it be organ systems, pbl, lecture-based, etc..?

also, what's the usual schedule for class on a day-to-day basis, i.e. when will students begin and get out of class every day?

for current students: have you found your classmates to be pretty open-minded and accepting of people who are non-christians? is there a feeling of elitism/"fake-ism" among the religious people in the school? i've gone to churches and at times i've definitely gotten the feel that people are putting on a show for others, i don't want to see that in my classmates.

for step 1: how does the school help you prepare? are the tests modeled after the boards? do you feel like the material covered during your first two years gave you a solid foundation to build on so that you could score well?

finally (and most important for me), i know there's a "mix" of professors at llu, but in general, have you been disappointed or excited with/about the quality of teaching at loma linda? the quality of professors is a huge factor for me, and it could make or break my decision on where to attend.

Ouch, I got a post-interview rejection on Friday. I'm crushed, I really thought my interview went well and I'm an SDA with a parent who graduated from LLU. Oh well, I know my calling and hopefully God will help me realize it elsewhere. Best of luck to the rest of you folks.

Yea i kind of in the same boat...should i call tomorrow to ask about my status if i STILL dont have anything in the mail? This has been a depressing cycle so if they want to reject me, they should get it over with...

I'm starting to look for housing in the LLU area. It looks like there are some really good deals, especially on houses. I think it would be really really really really fun to live in a 5 or 6 bedroom house with classmates. If you're accepted to LLU and interested, PM me.

If you don't mind me asking, what were your stats? (I know its pretty personal so yea, i'll understand if you don't want to.) I only ask because I'm in a similar situation, parent alumus except i'm Christian non-SDA. I also interviewed later than you.

Anybody else out there suffering from senioritus? I don't know about you guys, but I am VERY ready to graduate right now... Just trying to study for an anatomy exam tomorrow morning! 👍

Ok.. this is probably nothing.. but I just wanted to check...

so I got this email about financial aid thing from llu... (apparently i missed the deadline back in march) but i haven't yet heard anything about acceptance. does this mean anything? I'm trying not to read into it.. but I can't help it and cannot contain my excitement.. (even though i kinda feel like i'm leading myself on.. getting my hopes up, and will probably be pretty sad later when i realize that it's nothing).. any thoughts??

I got this email after a post-interview rejection, so I guess they send it to all applicants. It felt like a slap in the face...
 
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Yes, I really should have known it was nothing, but I just couldn't help but had a tiny ray of hope.. that is now.. gone. Oh well 🙂. I need to try to stay positive anyways 🙂. And you too, SDA med. I know it's super difficult 🙁

Thanks SDA Med for letting me know. Good luck with the rest of the application process. I'm sorry it didn't work out with LLU, but I hope you have good news from elsewhere 🙂.
 
Just got a phone call letting me know I am accepted for this fall! My interview date was at the end of February. Anyone else hear anything today?
 
accepted. Interviewed early February.
 
Has anyone from early March interviews heard anything yet? It seems like the admissions committee met early this month (2nd instead of 3rd week). Does that mean they're meeting more frequently? Or do those who haven't heard back yet have to wait until May 🙁
 
i interviewed late feb and still havent heard back. time is ticking...

Just for the record I applied to a lot of schools but LLU has been the slowest in getting back to me. I interviewed January 27th and didn't hear anything for awhile. A few weeks ago I wrote a continued interest letter to them, and three days letter I got an acceptance call from Dr. Nyirady. So those things sure might work!

Looking forward to seeing my fellow class of 2014 this fall!!!!

Congrats! Did you send your letter in by e-mail or regular mail? Loma Linda has been really bad about answering my emails =/

Congrats Lea621! I also interviewed on Jan 27 and was accepted.

Your facts are a little wrong, im a 4th year and personally know 4 people that didnt match and one of them told me that their were 6 people at the scramble meeting

Dont give up, one of my classmates had an uncle and grandfather that went here and got rejected twice and accepted his third try to LLU. He matched into ENT and was AOA, just had to get in some post grad work to make himself look better after a few undergrad screwups that hurt his GPA.

Thanks! Actually, I first sent a continued interest/thank you note right after my interview to an address that may have not been correct (because I still didn't hear anything for awhile), so then about a month or so later I sent one via email to: [email protected]. I didn't get any kind of verification that they received it; Dr. Nyirady didn't even mention it in the phone call. So who knows, maybe it didn't even play a factor in my acceptance. It's worth a try though! Good luck!
 
I'm waiting to hear back from a couple schools, but at this point it is looking like LLU. You?
 
Mid march interview, still waiting to hear back. They told me end of march, early april so...

Yup, I'm about 90% sure I'll be going here unless some massive financial aid comes in from another school...but I think LLU is my top choices anyhow.
 
I interviewed on March 2nd and I was just placed on the 'unranked alternate list'. 🙁 Has anyone else been placed on this list? I haven't seen anyone on this thread.

Does anyone know historically how many people are admitted off the alternate list?

I got the unranked alternate list letter today as well. interviewed April 1st. dont you just love the uncertainty of this whole process?
 
Oh no.. so does this mean that if we haven't gotten such email.. nor an acceptance.. that we're rejected.. anybody?? :scared::scared::scared:

The letter was sent through snail mail so it might have taken longer to get to some people?
 
yes, i indeed got my unranked waitlist snail mail! 🙂 thank you! 🙂

but does it mean they don't reject anyone until the very last possible moment?? when no news = bad news?? 😱😱
 
Unranked alternate list as well here... here's to hoping haha
