Congrats. You called?

Yep, do you know typically how long after complete do we get news of invite/hold/rejection etc.? I seem to get the impression that it's fairly random.
9-4 is a bit misleading.
if you go to morning lectures and afternoon lab, you'll be here 9-4 tuesdays or thursdays depending on the gross lab schedule
M and F are mostly morning classes only.
W tends to be some morning class and afternoon clinic
after anatomy, your schedule gets lighter. 🙂

Yes. LGA sucks btw, I absolutely hate it. JFK is 1000 times better.Is LGA the closest airport to Mount Sinai?

$45 plus tolls (maybe an additional $ 5 or so).So how much is taxi fare from JFK to Manhattan? Anyone in NYC area know?

Yea. Should be a bit cheaper from LGA.Geez, expensive.

LGA is closest, and even though JFK is nicer and bigger, the public transportation from LGA is WAAAAAAY better if you're going to manhattan or the bronx-- you can take the M60 bus to the 4/5/6 trains or the A/C/B/D or the 1/2/3. and it's $2.25 instead of $45.
How long does it take for public transport from Upper E side (Mt Sinai) to LGA? My flight out of there is at 4 and I'm afraid I'm cutting it way too close...
i'd say an hour-ish.
How about from JFK to the school?
oh god, i don't even know. at least 2 hours on public transit. i'd guess 45 min in a cab with little traffic.
Thanks, dw!🙂
why would you take a taxi for 45?
i'd go to jfk. then take the air train and subway. it will take around 1 hour and costs only 7.25
Can you ask maybe a family member or a close friend to call on your behalf?
This wasn't true from my experience. I just did this on wednesday. I transferred from the M60 to the 5 train, and the bus driver told me that his transfer passes won't get you on a subway train. I had to pay $2.25 for the M60 and $2.25 for the subway.la guardia is definitely a shorter trip (i just used google maps transit directions and mta tripplanner and both confirmed this) and you can get there for only $2.25.
It is literally impossible for me to check my status here.
They wouldn't tell me via email and I have Comparative Chordate Anatomy from 1-4 on every MW.
Awesome.

Oooo nice. I should have thought of that. I have a metro card with one ride left, so maybe I can use that if I get a Sinai invite!well if you had used a MetroCard instead of exact change+transfer it would have worked... i do it all the time. sigh... details, details ruin everything
Is LGA the closest airport to Mount Sinai?
Yes, LGA --> M60 bus to 125th St/Lexington --> 6 train to 96th/Lexington.
or, JFK --> Airtrain to Jamaica --> E Train to 51st Street/Lexington --> 6 train to 96th/Lexington.
LGA will def. be faster, but keep in mind if you get lost trying to transfer from the M60 to the 6 train, you'll be in the middle of Harlem.
How long would this take?
Agreed. It's not bad during the day at all though.go to LGA, 25 dollar ride get you to MSSM, no hassel.
Just want to mention 125th street might not be super safe at night, that's where M60 goes.
Just got an invite. I was verified complete when I called them on 8/19, but I was probably complete the week before. The date they gave me was 10/15, but I'm going to reschedule.
SO. INCREDIBLY. EXCITED.
Hey guys, I am an MS1 at Sinai. If you need anything or have any questions, let me know. I would be happy to help.
