Did anyone else have a negative interview experience here? I interviewed recently and was initially really impressed - great facilities, low-key and candid staff. But then my first interviewer was just...odd. He seemed extremely bored, puzzled, and skeptical, which is odd since I am a fairly articulate person with a solid application (I think!) and competitive stats from a top-ten school. He also asked a lot of pointed questions about how I perform under pressure and gave me lots of hypotheticals, like, "if your patient is dying and the attending is doing the wrong thing, what do you do?" I guess it's clear that he was trying to be intimidating in order to gauge my ability to perform under pressure, but it was just so weird and unexpected, especially since the rest of the day was relaxed and all of my previous interviews have been conversational. Thoughts? And I paranoid for wondering if the guy was acting this way because I'm a fairly young-looking female???

Sigh. I really liked the school at first, but I left feeling confused. But I guess that it was just good practice for future interviews, some of which might also be unpleasant.
I agree. An interview can totally change your perspective on a school. I had a interviewer who was looking at me like a statue throughout the whole interview. It was kind of irking me since I could not get a read on him. It threw me off my game plan. I started liking the school at the beginning but after the interview and the tour, my attitude about the school soon changed to pure dislike :meanie:

Did any Maine Track interviewers hear back from the admissions committee yet? It appears that normal Tufts interviewers heard they were either accepted/wait listed. I'll take the lack of response as a hopeful maybe from Tufts haha.

got the waitlist email this morning. I will now proceed with shooting myself🙁🙁

Don't give up hope, apparently a lot of kids who are interviewed get off the waiting list and are accepted. I had a friend who interviewed who got off the waiting list at Tufts. Granted it was later April, but it still was better than nothing.

A previous posting on this thread said around 2/3rds of kids who are interviewed are eventually accepted. You interviewed this early so I'd say you still have a solid chance.

got the acceptance call from Dean Neumeyer yesterday!! greatest day of my life. no matter what happens from this point on I know that im gonna become a doctor one day now, cant believe it! to anyone feeling defeated keep ur head up n b patient, ur time is coming this process is just crazy :-/

i got into mainetrack

i recieved a call on tuesday and an email today, i interviewd early oct

Cool, let's hope for the best, also complete around August.

I finally heard back from Tufts after being complete on 8/24. (I'm IS) The first available date was in February! 😱 Still, I'm really happy. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting!

PS its really weird that this came on a Monday. I though Friday notifications was Tufts MO.

I think i will decline my interview offer. I have already been accepted to a school in my state. Tufts is really expensive and I'm not sure if the price is worth it. Plus I dont want to spend money on hotel and plane tickets.
I'm broke 😴

What was the purpose of redoing the animation with the incorrect spelling?

i want an interview invite! did i just miss another round of invites? shoot, i am starting to get really worried!

It seems like today was the round of interview invites.

I guess Tufts does not like me.....

Too bad.

Did I miss something? Why do you think today was a round of invites?

Oh,

I was just assuming that the last invites are getting near since people are being invited for Feburary slots, and March seems like the month when most schools will make final decision on acceptances.

The last interview slots were in april. Plus I gave up my interview invite so hopefully one you will get it!:xf:

that makes me really sad....i really wanted to interview here and i didn't get an invite 🙁 boooooooooo.

I don't know guys, I think it's still fairly early in the process to lose hope. I mean, how can we be sure that the school is done inviting people for interviews in early November? The interview season stretches until March or even April in some cases.

:luck:

b/c ive been conditioned to accepting failure...after failure ..after failure with no possibility for recourse, remediation, nor even the slightest bit of feedback for future improvement.

that is why i fail. and why i expect to fail

*headdesk*

agree with this. I think there are still more interviews to come--it doesn't even seem like there has been a big november invite yet and if there are still interview dates in feb/mar and possibly even april (according to poster above) we may have yet to hear from them.

That's my hope anyway. :xf:

nice attitude especially for a person with 10 invites!

with 0 accepts ...i know. trying to stay upbeat but the neuroticism is killing me

I was complete on 10/1...how long did it take to hear about an interview?

is it worth it at this point to send a letter of interest?

Tufts seems AMAZING and I feel its too late for an invite 🙁

It's definitely not too late for an interview invite. You might as well send a letter of interest; it can't hurt!

How long after you got the email saying, "Make sure your contact information is updated on our secondary application" did you receive the phone call from Dr. Neumeyer?

Received the e-mail that asked me to review contact information today. I am sooo nervous right now. I really hope that I get accepted to Tufts. I think we will hear something by the end of this month? The lady that interviewed me told me that they would have a meeting by the end of the month. Really surprised that I got the "update contact info" e-mail this early. I guess they decide to meet before Thanksgiving.
