So, question. It says something on the lines of which listed in AMCAS service activity etc... I want to use something I didn't list in AMCAS because it was something I only did once (for the impact on someone's life question). What do I do?

That's tough. I think they wanted something on the AMCAS so you could use your 5 sentences to explain the effects not what you did. Idk what to tell you.

Maybe I should email? I just don't really want to bother them with a question that seems so easy. I mean, it says what it says probably for a reason.
 
Just to make sure about the deadline they gave us in the email: we have 3 weeks from the day we received our secondary in the email to send them the completed secondary application, but letters of rec can be sent whenever? Soon is obviously better, but I'm still waiting on a prof to finalize my last letter before I can send the packet, so i just wanted to make sure that LORs are not included in the 3 week deadline. It did say something about evaluation letters being due at the "your earliest convenience."
 
submitted. but it's a shame we have to spend some hard-copy stuff, else this would be a quick "complete".
 
you guys write anything for the personal comments section?

maybe about how you LOVE wake??🙂
 
Do you guys think it is okay to write about the same service activity for the "impact me" and "impact on others" questions?

I gave a short blurt about how I made my application better over the summer. Then like five sentences after that about why Wake rules and a few specifics on why I want to go there.
 
This may have already been mentioned on here, but the payment is only by check or money order? Really? So there is no credit card payment option?
 
How optional do you all think the personal comments section is? In the email, it says if you did not fill that part of your AMCAS out that you need to do it, but what about the rest of us? I don't really know that I really have any additional comments I want to include. It says complete it if we have something extra to add or something to say TO the school, not about it. I hate these "optional sections" they never seem to really be that optional.

Look on last years thread. I think some people didn't do it.
 
Got the secondary today...you have to mail in the fee and its due in 3 weeks...also not saveable to edit. One shot.
 
So does anyone know that answer to my question?

Is only the online secondary application due in 3 weeks? And then letters can be sent whenever. They mention the 3 week deadline, but then it also says that evaluations letters can be sent at "your earliest convenience." Just want to make sure.

Service activity... would a paid job instructing count for that? That's what I'm putting either way.
 
I already designated all of my letters to go to Wake, and it says they only want two. You can't delete them in AMCAS after initial submission. How big of a deal will this be?

It's not a big deal... they'll probably look at the 2 you wrote there first. Most schools ask for 2-3 so they don't get CF-ed with letters. All that I've talked to so far accept more.

I'm going to call them tomorrow and ask if I can submit an extra one that's non-academic (from a student of mine). Non-compliant? It took me a while to get out of that paranoia. They're just regular humans like us - they're not robots 🙂

Yea, I'm not really sure what to put here. The activity where I really made a difference in someone's life is one that I got paid for. I was still doing a service, it just wasn't for free. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to write about that.

I wrote mine in... I think they want an activity you put or would put on the AMCAS... don't overthink 👍
 
My signiture page is actully 2 pages when I print it 😕

If you guys had the same, did you staple them together?


what about photo? you think it's better to attach it ( it's optional)

Yes, 2 pages stapled... I attached a passport sized photo.

got a question

when i pressed "submit"
it brought me to a 'can not be displayed' page.
i kind of freaked out


then i try logging in again and it says website can not be displayed
and i pressed refreshed several times and it showed me a page that says

your application is already submitted. press submit to go to the signature page. and if i type my name and press submit, it brings me to the signature page.

is this what happened to you guys?

I was getting this too, it didn't submit until I made sure that I checked the "does not apply" circle on the question that asks about any family that are alumni.
 
Now that a few people have submitted, are you all adding information to the personal comments section?

The errors are still owning me, but ya I did put something in the personal comments section, just updating them that I got a new job doing research for my year off.
 
So is the general consensus to only talk about community service for the service prompt or can you discuss employment?
 
I am writing about community service just because of the way they worded the questions and I am planning on writing something for the personal comment.
 
Did any of you write about a service activity that you already talked about in your PS? I'm not sure if I should do that for one of them or if theyre looking for something you haven't talked about in detail yet?😕

I talked about it in my PS and clinical experience and relating to patients, but here I used it as the impact on my leadership and serving. So kinda different aspects of it, I guess.

Just so I understand - once you hit submit, it will take you to a signature page that you have to print out and sign (2 pages printed)? I can see the application fee has to be mailed in.

I'm currently in Australia right now, so I was wondering if I could have my dad send a check and I just fax the signature page. I'll call them tonight (morning in the States) and see what they say.

I'm in a similar situation (out of town, no access to a printer). I found a public computer with a printer hooked up and just put in the URL of the signature page and printed it. It doesn't have my name at the top or my "prospective student ID Number", but I just wrote them in. Hopefully it'll work. If it doesn't that's pretty ridiculous.

Same here, I wrote about my job as the service activity that impacted me most, I hope that is ok with them lol. GL everyone 🙂
