don't worry you did. the whole top dealy is for those of us who either kept or opted for the default setting of 50 posts per page. participants must have their accounts set to page multiples of 50 (50, 100, 150, etc) to be eligible to compete in the dealy. 😎

Well since we don't have grades at Case, and I no longer play college sports, this is our new, healthy outlet for competition .

don't worry you did. the whole top dealy is for those of us who either kept or opted for the default setting of 50 posts per page. participants must have their accounts set to page multiples of 50 (50, 100, 150, etc) to be eligible to compete in the dealy. 😎

I believe the officially stated end-time for UP is 4:00, but you can finish as early as 2:30. If you're worried about missing a flight, you can call the admissions office to see if you can work something out.

I'm not really sure about CP, though.

I know for a fact that others feel this thread has gone too far downhill. We need a mod to delete the childish, diluting posts that make up 90% of this thread. And then we need someone to corral everyone with 15+ posts on this thread and put them somewhere secluded where they can giggle and dance as much as they want. And then we need pie, or ice cream cake.

Ouch! "Myuu's crony" is a bit harsh. I consider myself a completely independent-thinking person 😀. And I would hardly characterize this thread as "downhill", check some of the other threads and see if they have the same level of positivity that we have here.

Yes, I will concede that we do like to have fun on here, but we do it for you guys (and girls) as applicants. The application season is long, we know, we all went through it too; so if you can't have a little fun along the way you're going to go crazy. If you have an honest question, then ask it, that's what we're here for. But if you are taking an online web forum this seriously, then I can only imagine the stress level that you are going to have in medical school, regardless of where you attend. I'm not trying to call you out here, but I am suggesting that perhaps you relax a bit about this.

I cannot remedy the other problems, but I have brought some ice cream cake for everyone.

(On a serious note, if you have questions, or if there are things you can't find because the thread is too large, ask and you will get at least 3 helpful responses in the next 30 minutes. That's the advantage to having an active thread like CWRU's. Guaranteed or your money back.)

It seems like he/she was under the impression that the students on this thread represent, by attitude/perspective, a minority at Case. Is this fair, or is the general med student population (/maybe faculty) there of the "let's enjoy life" outlook, which is in many ways very unique amongst other med schools?

We Case students here at SDN are but a few flavors of fun out of our cornucopia of students.

But to be more serious, the attitude and personalities of Case students comprise one of the reasons that I am here now. They don't just collect a class full of people with amazing stats, they hand select vibrant and diverse people.

I genuinely feel that "the general med student population (/maybe faculty) there of the "let's enjoy life" outlook, which is in many ways very unique amongst other med schools?" that you brought up, Acoustic, is extremely true. I interviewed at other schools, and the atmosphere here is dramatically different. I feel very, very fortunate.

Part of what makes it work is the small group focus and pass/fail-fostered camaraderie. The material/coursework is inteeeeeense (of course), and we hold each other accountable in our small groups sessions. If one of us doesn't take the time to read up on the material, we notice. If one of us doesn't understand something, someone who's strong in that area takes the lead and teaches. It takes a certain kind of person to both foster this type of learning and thrive in it. That's why they work so hard to put together each matriculating class. 👍

Some of my classmates laugh about SDN as "a bunch of neurotic pre-meds foaming at the mouth" and I've seen that in some threads (and in some posters 0_o). But not very much in this thread. We tend to foster a different attitude here. And we come back here to talk with you guys to share the things that we enjoy about it. And to gather and giggle with ice cream cake (good choice, Evergrey, oreo 4tw).

So, in summary, no not all Case students are like us. But they are also equivalently awesome in their own special ways.
