Ok I think you were sitting relatively close to me during the info session. I am also married and I told everyone about the injuries I sustained on my honeymoon. Congrats on the acceptance.

I don't think I actually got an e-mail, but I could be wrong. I only remember the call and letter.
 
What happens after you mail back the form and deposit?

Is the guy who said he stabbed himself with the pencil as his "something interesting" checking this forum?

How about the guy who did a booby trap on his friends 60 year old dad and it was funny cause he was really old (realizes the admissions people were about 60 or over) i mean.... thats like not really old... He... uh.... still had alot of years ahead....uh.... yeah
 
Will they be making calls tomorrow since it's presidents day or will we have to wait until Tuesday?

There are basically two types of scholarships that I guess you could call 'general scholarships,' outside of the big ones that people could get for having a phenomenal MCAT, etc. They are both funded by the alumni association here at LLU, and every year said organization has different amounts of funds so a different number of people get the scholarship. They have one for $5,000 and one for $10,000. I'm not sure how the selection process takes place, but they give out a good number of them, I think they said about 20 in our class got them? I don't know, don't quote me on that, I could be way wrong. They didn't really tell me by what grounds you are selected, but I know my stats weren't that impressive and I managed to get one somehow. Same with my roommate. So the answer is yes and no?

Pretty soon here they will start setting up your account through the myllu.llu.edu portal, after they receive and process your deposit. I'm not sure if you are informed through the email address you gave them or snail mail, but it's similar to how you signed in to do secondaries. There will be a long check list of things to do to complete registration, some of which you won't be able to do until just before matriculation. But it gets going pretty quick, I know I had a lot of my stuff done before undergrad graduation.

Thanks. I was kind of wondering what the kids accepted this year had already though.
 
So this last weekend was an open house for family at LLU, and though I had seen it before, they had the medical simulation center up and running to its full potential. It was, in a word, AMAZING. I mean seriously, the sophistication of the mannequins and the range of procedures/scenarios available was incredible. I took my camera through on a quick run through, though toward the end there, some of the dummies were turned off and I couldn't get a perfect representation of what was to be seen. I'm right there with you. I don't think it's going to happen today though. I called the office just to see if anyone was in and it doesn't seem like anyone's there today. Look's like we'll have to wait until tomorrow.

After I sent mine in I got an email saying that they got my deposit/form. Then shortly after I got another email giving me access to the portal.

He pretty much explained everything though. I managed to do everything on my checklist except for the ones that require stuff like my final transcripts and what not.
 
I emailed them and asked and they said that they have not made a decision on my application yet 🙁 What does this mean? I interviewed on jan 27. Do they have some kind of rankings and then they would go down the rank to review/make decision ? Cause i know someone feb /8 interviewed and got accepted already. So my file is not strong enough to get accepted but not weak enough to be on waiting list? or maybe not strong enough to be wait list but not weak enough to be rejected? I am confusedddddd!!

There is no waiting list. Its rolling admissions. Every meeting, they take all the people who have interviewed so far, but have not been accepted, and they pick a certain amount to be accepted. so say you interviewed a long time ago, but the class after you was the most stellar class of interviewees ever in one day. They will probably pick all of them at the next meeting. you dont get picked. but between that meeting and the next one, the absoloute worst interviewees are interviewed, well they arent great, so when the next meeting happens, your still in that stack getting voted on and are much more likely to get in. its not a waiting list, they just accept from a general pool of interviewed students that gets added to over time.

also, i dont think they made any calls today because of presidents day (i called several times to ask about letters of intent, but got no answer all day).

I'm banking on them not having called anyone yet today. Maybe they'll start after noon.
 
I interviewed on 12/7. No responses yet, hope that gives whoever else has been waiting for a little while some measure of comfort. C'mon LLU! Gimme that phone call!
 
Someone has had to get a call by now... I want to know if they are calling.

Then again I would prefer my lack of a phone call to be due to them taking tuesday off
 
They are definitly in the office today. I called and someone answered. I asked if the meetings had been held last weekend. The lady said she was not allowed to say if a meeting had happened, but that if anyone had been selected they would be called within a few days after any meetings. Also the last meeting is in march and at that point they will call everyone to notify them of acceptance waitlist or rejection.

Im praying they call after lunch (which is technically right now for them) im praying really hard. this is an amazing school with an amazing atmosphere.

If so.... would it also be bad form to include a picture of puppies with note reading "For every day that passes until my acceptance call, one of these puppies will die"

i dont know. Im seriously such a nervous wreck about it. I keep telling myself maybe theyre meeting next weekend since february is such a weird month.

its helpful to not see a million acceptances on SDN though, it gives me hope that they havent called too many people yet if they did meet. (imagined hope)
 
Well one guy did report an acceptance on friday... so they most likely met.

But no one has reported anything today. there is always the probability that the accepted people don't use SDN

I'm coming to the conclusion that SDNers may not be the best socially aware people and therefore don't do well on interviews.

With that stated... I like to think that I can at least fake the fact that I know how to interact with people.

Thanks. I went out of the country a couple of days after I got my acceptance phone call and didn't mail my deposit till after I got back (several weeks later) so I just wanted to make sure I wasn't misisng anything too exciting.

Well, at this point there are only 19 people in our Facebook group; so either most of those accepted don't browse SDN very much or they're saving a lot for later.

speaking of the facebook group. I know of non SDners that are on fb that have been accepted. Should I invite them to join?

Looks like they might have delayed calling by another day. That or they haven't had their meeting and the guy on pg6 lied.
 
Also I'm really upset at my dentist.

When it is 1:30 and you receive a call from the 909, it is perfectly reasonable to assume that this is your acceptance call and get super pumped. Especially when you pick it up and a lady who has an accent (like the woman who schedules the interview dates) says "Hello Halethsonofhama, I am calling from... Valley Dentistry.... just wanted to remind you about your appointment!"

its extra stressful out here on the east coast, i have to wait until 11 just to start expecting phone calls, and i know they could go until 7 or 8 pm so its not like i can give up at 4 or 5 i have to keep stressing all day.

and im with you on the social awkwardness of SDN. but all the same, i think i interview well, (the guy told me i did) i just hope the call/meeting schedule got screwey or something.
 
I've got a feeling that we're not going to hear anything today. I really hope I'm wrong though!!

Well for future reference Dr. Nyirady usually calls so expect a male voice 🙂
 
This is seriously killing me. Every time my phone rings my heart jumps... good thing nobody likes me so they don't call....

wait a minute... did I put my cell number or my dad's house number....
 
So they met on the 18th, the 3rd Friday of the month, and some people got in? I don't think they will accept any more this month then. It wouldn't make any sense. Better to just wait until the 3rd week of March.
 
For the additional financial aid forms that we're supposed to be filling out, are we expected to get it all in by March 2 or is that just for the FAFSA?

Other people have just said that they make their calls throughout the next week after the meeting... But with no call today, I have lost hope for hearing back this month.

March, here we come.



SUNUVA!!! while I was writing this I got a call from a 909 area code again! stupid kid dialed the wrong number (yes, I know its nearly 9 but who else from the 909 would called me.... besides stupid kids who don't know how to work the phone)
