YES!!! Received an invite this morning for 12/2, asked for 11/18 so I wouldnt have to wait so long and I would rather get it done with sooner than later, after waiting for a long time its nice to hear back

Well when we were all getting finished with our interviews, the school was put on lockdown because someone sighted a gunman on campus. No one could leave til about 5:15-5:30. They declared campus "all clear" when it was determined that the spotted gunman was actually carrying a "replica" firearm. Maybe something to do with the corps? It was just interesting, but otherwise a great interview day.

Wasn't a cadet from my understanding, which may be why the bus driver that saw it called it in. Without being there I can't say for certain, but it sounds like it may have been an actual Marine that is attached to the ROTC on campus, or a regular student that is seeking a commission through a non-ROTC program.

yeah who knows. no matter what, it was a pretty bone-headed move to do be carrying around a replica like that. alot of people there seemed frightened, especially with what happened at UT last month and all the other similar situations over the years. Thank goodness this one ended the way it did

i transmitted 9/1 and submitted secondary 9/6, so i'm praying to hear back from them soon. losing hope though =(

Your application is probably just slipping through the cracks a little. Your app went through with the majority of people who also waited so long to submit. The only people who stick out in that group are people with really high stats, great EC's, publications, etc.

yeah i definitely waited too long. i was waiting to get the results of my mcat.

my stats are: GPA 4.0 and MCAT: 31

so im not sure what to think

While your stats are good and would have gotten you many interviews, the volume of applicants is just too great during that time of the cycle. For example, my stats are 3.66/3.5 and 30Q (both lower than yours), but I have recieved 5 MD interviews in Texas and one OOS. The reason for this is not that I have a better application, just that I got my TMDSAS submitted like 3 days after it opened up (secondaries about 2 days after that). With that said, the cycle is not over and it's very possible to still get some interviews. And all it takes is one! 😀 Maybe you were just destined for UTSW! Good luck with everything, and keep me posted. I'm rooting for you (you worked way too hard not to get in).

OMG! I was wondering what happened to you the other day when I was reading through a bunch of old Texas threads!!!!! I thought you got in! Ick. I'm sorry to hear that... 🙁 But... Haven't you learned your lesson about applying early yet! Eeeek! 🙂 Still, I am glad to see you! Welcome back!

yes i learned my lesson lol. i was so late because i had a lot of hope i would get in last year. I was kept on the utsw and atm waiting list up until orientation.
Once I didnt get in, I went through a week depression, then did everything again in about two days. thus submitted in mid august and transmitted 6 weeks later at the beginning of october. i hope one school gives me a shot. otherwise, its the beach and sand for me, if you know what I mean.
congrats to everyone. dont worry about pre-match, match, rolling admission etc. all what matters is if you are starting in august or not.

Yea, I interviewed with him! He was so enthusiastic about everything that I felt so relaxed and welcomed. I swear some of my interviewers at other schools were out to get me, or test my composure in some twisted way. I've definitely stumbled out of some interview rooms with my tail between my legs, haha. A&M totally wasn't like that! I got a lot of questions about my values, how my values would help me in medicine, what I would do to uphold/sustain my values, etc. Also, I asked one of the admissions staff members the best way to get to the CS airport, and someone offered to drive me there personally! How nice is that!!

A&M takes a reallyyyyyy long time to update. At the beginning of the cycle it was taking AT LEAST 6 weeks for the primary to be processed. I would wait another week or two before calling.

If it says 'Under Review' then you're complete. The true/false stuff comes up when your status is 'Pending' and they haven't received everything.

That is the link I'm logging into. Umm I guess I should just wait. How was it until you guys got the under review thing after it transmitted, my friends told me A&M takes awhile....buts its been awhile. Right now I have pending, I guess they haven't got it...

I'd definitely still keep hope alive. I'm a URM 27Q 3.8 cGPA 3.7 sGPA OOS applicant, and I was accepted here. The people here were extremely nice, and although their diversity in the past hasn't been that great, it seems like they are more committed to that effort now. Best of luck!

I am assuming you are talking about the ranking list. It varies with school. TA&M slow though-like 3, 4 weeks. But this list doesn't need to be up for you to be prematched, I think.
