Just talked to Mr. Rosso.. They entered the middle third on "May 11th at 3:52pm."
This is kind of funny, because apparently I am still in the top third

Called in the morning: "You are definitely still in the top third"
Awesome thanks! Did Mr Rosso say anything about odds of getting accepted if we are in the middle third? He was saying 50/50 a while ago, but just wondering if that had changed because they are accepting from the middle third now.
maybe I got skipped =/
If I end up getting in this is going to be something I will laugh at, but still just increases the tension/stress/almost freaking out.

For all of you who have already been accepted, once your status changed to accepted, how long did it take for you to get some sort of notification from the school, whether e-mail or snail mail? I want to get that deposit in!
My status changed on a Thursday and I received the email on the following Monday, although it took a day or so after I accepted online before the system would take my deposit.

so where have you decided on nyr?
99% set on Buffalo. I withdrew from BU & Upstate, but I'm on some waitlists. At the end of the day though, I liked Buffalo a lot and it's the cheapest option, so unless I get some miraculous financial aid package from some other school, I can't imagine switching. Not to mention, come housing weekend in June, I'll probably have signed a lease, so I definitely won't be changing after that.
Congrats! Buff is a great place and it's definitely improving. I wish I could get a 300 buck a month lease over in NYC 🙂
Thanks! And funny you mention that - I pulled up some apartment websites and was ready to start looking for an ~$800/mo place, thinking that it'll be nice to save money compared to NYC. I was literally blown away when I saw you can get an entire house for 1k.
Then again, you'll be paying more, but you'll still get to have real NY pizza & bagels!![]()
Just accepted at Buffalo, definitely going! I don't know the area too well (I've only been there for rugby matches and the interview), so I was wondering if anyone knew any areas near the south campus area for renting?

Well, you may get an apartment for $300 per month, but Buffalo is definitely not a yuppie town. So even though you may have saved some money on rent, the quality of life in Buffalo is not the greatest. Not to mention the weather, which is horrible in the winter.
Yeah, that's exactly what Buffalo is like!I grew up in Buffalo and then went away for College and my Master's Degree. Honestly, I am so happy that I am going to be back in Buffalo for med school for the next 4 years. It might not be the most exciting city to live in, but it is cheap and there are a lot of fun things to do if you seek them out. There's sort of a quirky art scene, great restaurants and bars, a great theater district, and of course, cheap rent! The weather isn't so great in the winter, but we all get through it just fine!
Congrats! No one would really recommend living in the University Heights neighborhood, as it's not exactly the best or safest place.Just accepted at Buffalo, definitely going! You should still be able to login to that site. Did you change your password? Maybe try clicking forget password link.
Just checked the admissions status and it says accepted!!!! So excited and can't wait to meet you all in June!
how long did it take you guys to get your acceptance packets in the mail?
doot doot... there hasn't been too much movement lately =/.... everyone else got the email today too??
Rosso told me that middle tier now has 70% chance of getting in!...woot woot... heres to some good news the rest of this week...

Hey all,
I called yesterday and Mr. Rosso told me the WL movement has been "abnormally slow" this past week. Hopefully it picks up soon! Btw time to start holding onto our phones like hot potatoes on June 13th!
Hey I just called them and the lady who answered told me that the class is full already. So the only way they would accept more people down the list is to have someone withdraw.....not so optimistic about this fact🙁
If you look on last years thread there was a lot of movement in June due to accepted applicants dropping their spots. This years movement is very similar to last years. Stay positive! 🙂
A few days for me, and I live less than a mile from the school.
And don't be alarmed if it's in a small envelope. 🙂

I stumbled across this article entirely by accident a few minutes ago.
UB 2020 would hike tuition 8% a year
Does anyone know more about this? I'm interested in how it will affect the COA for future UB medical students. Anyone have more specific details?
I know tuition increases every year at basically every medical school, but 8% seems higher than average.

Great. 8% is absolutely ridiculous. I hope the politicians nix this ASAP, but I don't have too much faith in them doing the right thing.
OMG Finally Accepted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOOOOOOOOO excited!!!!!
Ok, what now?....I haven't got any emails yet but just the ACCEPTED sign on my status....Are they gonna email me the notice with the link to pay my deposit online? Is that true it will take few days for the system to accept my deposit since I just got accepted? If I choose to pay by check, can I just send them a $100 check solo or do I have to wait to receive the snail mail and send the check with some form?
