i interviewed on 10/9 and got my acceptance phone call 10/16!!!
 
anyone got their official interview invite? they should come out today, RIGHT? I am scared they withdraw their invite , lol🙂

Well I emailed Kim last Friday asking I would hear on Monday(I interviewed on 10/9), and she said my file had been considered... But I haven't heard anything yet. I'm alot less neurotic about it since I got into Louisville so I am just being patient as well, but hopefully we hear something soon!
 
Interviewed this week...supposed to find out something next Friday...going to be a long week...
 
Has anyone who got accepted this week received an official acceptance letter yet? When do you think they send/sent those out?

Takes a while. There will be 2. The second one is the pretty one that I keep on my desk... to this day! It's a good reminder of how excited I was to get the opportunity, which helps on the bad days when I don't remember why I'm doing this.

Thanks! I was just unsure if we had a deadline to mail in a seat deposit, but I guess not until we have the letter...
 
I would really like to get an acceptance letter soon so I could finalize things....
 
I guess the two week time period to response to acceptance starts once you receive the package in the mail???

I hope to find out good new next friday, but wanted to make sure I understood the process...

I felt exactly that same anxiety. Getting in is great, but it doesn't seem real until you have something tangible that says it is for certain. My problem was, even after the first few weeks of med school it didn't seem real.

Current M2, Friday night studying all day and night for 3 tests next week covering all of immunology and infectious diseases. Feels real now.
 
Interviewed 10/9, OOS. Called for update today. Hold for re-review status. Withdrew post state school acceptance. Hope one closed door means an open one for someone else. Good luck everyone!

Sooo... this was probably answered before but I was wondering how long it takes between seeing the "Interview to be Scheduled" status and getting the email with a date???
 
Hey guys. So I just received an interview invite on 12/7. Just wanted to know if anybody can ballpark how many spots are left in the class? I was surprised to even get an interview, and don't want to hold my breath on being accepted.

Hey, if you've been invited, then there must be spots open. I think the committee will meet that week or shortly after that so you stand a great chance of getting in by Christmas. From what I understand, interviews after January are mostly for the alternate list. So you should be fine.

Well, shiz. If they updated "Interview to be Scheduled" statuses today and mine didn't change, I'll be waiting another 2 flippin' weeks.. prob pushing the interview into January. 😡

Hey, don't freak out...you don't know what spots are available...remember, anything we say here is often hearsay unless we hear it directly from UKCOM's admissions office.

BTW, I believe the committee meets every other Thursday...not Tuesday. But status updates can happen anyday by admissions office staff.
 
Thanks, Maiden. I went through this jazz last year, so I don't know what I was thinking abt the Committee Meeting dates... Interviews every other Tues & Sat, with adcom meetings on the Thursday of the off week (if they follow the same sched as last year).
 
The committee meets this Thursday, the 28th. Just thought some of you may be wondering which is on and which is off. Good luck to those hearing tomorrow or friday.
 
For other UK lovers out there looking to entertain yourselves... I just read through the med school handbook on the website. It just makes it feel a little more real to read it!

It's the silence before the storm! I was so anxious always having my cell with me today. I really don't know what to expect, but good news from KY would make my heart melt.

Nope its just on the normal website. Honestly I can't remember how I got to it! But maybe if u type it in the search bar on the site? It's pretty interesting!
 
Accepted!!! I got a call today. This is my first acceptance so I am super excited.

I emailed them a few days ago and they said they are in the process of sending them out so we should get them probably next week.

Anyone get the phone call from Thursday's admissions meeting yet? If we didn't get the call by this time does that mean we're on hold? :bang:
 
Give them a call. When I was there they just told me to call the next Friday and they would know something. So, I know they do not mind if you call.
 
Gave admissions a call and found out I'm on hold. They said now they will review me again in December. Does anyone know the odds from previous years of getting in when they review in December?

Does anyone have any idea? I didn't see many people on last year's thread that were on hold for re-review, so I'm not sure, but I'd like to know.

From what they told me at my interview they are doing things a little different this year. Instead of requiring a simple majority vote to get accepted they are making you get a 70% vote (Not completely sure of this number). This way they are not completely fully by Dec and miss out on quality canidates that may apply later. Thy also said there may be other reasons for hold for re-review as wells (LORs, missing pre-req, I'm guessing?). But that is the explanation I got about the increase in "Hold for re-review" status.

Well, it's good news that they won't be completely full by December. Reading through last years thread made me worry about that. I've not taken one of the pre-req labs, but have signed up for it next semester. Fingers crossed that's the only reason I'm on hold. 😀.
 
Here's to hoping I'm on hold because I only got 69% vote!
