Well, it's June 1 and, per AAMC traffic rules, "any school that plans to make an acceptance offer to an applicant already known to have been accepted by another school or program for that entering class ensure that the other school or program is advised of this offer at the time that the offer is made. This notification should be made immediately by telephone and promptly thereafter by written correspondence delivered by regular or electronic methods."

Additionally, I looked at last year's thread and the last person who reported being pulled from the waitlist did so on June 1. There was, however, someone who reported being pulled from the waitlist on June 20 in the thread from two years ago. What does this all mean? Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue!

I plan on staying on the waitlist as long as possible (probably until I sign a lease), but I have a feeling that any movement past this point is going to be fairly limited. Well, at least I can feel confident that I went down swinging! I half expected Dean Dodson to send me an e-mail saying "Okay, I get it. You want to go to school here. I have all the info I need, so please quit sending me stuff." 🙂

If you have been pulled from the waitlist (or are pulled in the future) please post in this very dead thread...it may help future applicants who look through past year's threads for info. Thanks, and good luck to everyone!

Yea I'm pretty bummed about this, but you summed it up well, there isn't much movement after this point. This hurts quite a bit since I genuinely loved this school. Now I wish I had worked even harder during undergrad. Congrats to all of you who were fortunate enough to gain admissions to WashU, I hope you take full advantage of the opportunities this school has to offer. 😉

And to those, who like me where unable to gain admission, keep your chin up! Hopefully you got in elsewhere and it may end up being the time of your life! Or just keep working hard and someday you'll get in 👍

Peace out WashU, maybe you'll let me do a residency someday?

Hey guys, I contacted WashU yesterday and asked them whether there will be any waitlist movement. They replied today and said that the class is full and it's hard to predict any movement in the future.
Well, I guess that's it then. It makes me sad cuz I really love this school and hope getting in this year.
Good luck to anyone who is still waiting! :luck:

Ok, <rant> time. What you were given is a typical adcom nonanswer. Of course the class is full! It was full the day they issued their last regular acceptance. The whole point of the waitlist is that not all acceptances pan out for the school. If an accepted student withdraws, the vacancy thus created will be filled in about 5 minutes by calling one of the candidates on top of the waitlist. (Yes, on top of the RANKED waitlist.) Then, what do you know, the class is full again!

The adcom is being unnecessarily cagey, if not unfair, in its extraordinary unwillingness to provide us with any useful information regarding our prospects. The claim that the waitlist is unranked is absurd - are we to believe they pick candidates' names out of a hat? Other schools at least inform you as to where you fall within a range; WashU doesn't even reveal the total size of the waitlist. I understand the adcom doesn't want to foster false hopes, but I am sure many waitlisted candidates would appreciate a little more forthcomingness. Our position on the waitlist directly impacts important life decisions that need to be made; if I knew I were on top of the waitlist, I might choose to postpone establishing myself in another city and completing financial arrangements at that school. On the other hand, if I knew I were near the bottom, I would be freed from the torture of anticipation and be able to move ahead without any reservations. </rant>
