So my status today says that I was complete for BU on 9-1 and that the actions available to me at this time is to withdraw my MSTP application. Is this a rejection? 😱

No it doesn not mean that. I believe everyone has that option to withdraw and you made it past the dreaded 19.

rejected day 19.

AMCAS sent 9/25 received 9/27
Secondary received 9/27 finalized 9/27
Application complete email 9/29
Interview offered 9/29 for 10/21

I'm pretty excited. I was pretty down after being deferred from my EDP school, especially since I am now late in the application cycle. Getting a fast response from BU was just the pick-up I needed, and I would be honored to come if I get accepted.

Hey guys! I have been holding on the secondary from BU. Is it worth it for me to submit it? STATS are 4.0 GPA AND 34 MCAT. I took the MCAT in 2008 and graduated in 2009. Thanks!

Interview 10/4! Complete 8/15, 30 day 9/15

I still can't believe it! Boston, here I come 🙂

oh and dates on the first week of january are only available for me. Should I try and get something earlier? Not sure if it matters in terms of admission.

hey guys,

i'm interviewing here next week and i was wondering :

i) has anyone interviewed yet and does anyone have any good information that might be useful to me?
ii) does BU let you know who will be interviewing you, and if so, how do i find this out?

I will be sure to update here after my interview.

Thanks

There is 1 faculty interview. They give a very detailed handout with the interviewer's academic history and personal trajectory.

My good information? Relax. From my interview day BU seemed to care much more about you as a person (which you can't change) than your stats so just be genuine. They are big on diversity. Find out what that means to you. Best of luck. 🙂

Rejected today - day 19 =/. Although I kind of expected it after seeing all the people with great stats getting rejected...
good luck everyone! :luck:

I am a Canadian applicant with a 3.76 gpa and 31Q mcat (12ps, 8vr, 11bs) and got 21Q the first time (8/5/8), solid EC's with lots of leadership but no research publications.

Going to submit my PRIMARY application probably sunday, do I still have any shot at this school for this cycle?

Sorry, but I would save your money and wait until next cycle. By the time your primary application gets verified, it may be too late to pass in secondaries.

+1
It's 10/05 bro. Unless you are a superstar among superstars, I would hold off until early next cycle. There are just too many factors against you at this point.

My first rejection. It was bound to happen.

I don't know exactly what BU is looking for, but apparently it isn't hicks from flyover country who express a strong desire to make house calls and deliver babies in log cabins.

Next! 🙂

You submitted in July. It's October now. It's also difficult to compare two applicants with very different experiences. His chances for interview will be exponentially higher if he applies in June next cycle.

Why not maximize your chances and go to the medical school of your dreams? BU is a great school and highly competitive. Keep that in mind.

Hey guys,

thanks for the responses. I will take into consider all of your answers as they really did help! Do you guys recommend any other schools for this cycle though? And do i have any shot at a top 25 this cycle, if so, which ones?

Thanks again so much for your time!

I got the interview today! So surprised after reading about all these great people getting rejected. Scheduled for Jan 6!

Submitted AMCAS back in July, BU done 8/13, verified 8/15. Got my 30 day email on Sept 14, and my interview invite on Sept 30. Set for Dec 5!

I was initially offered Oct 26 and Nov 7 but those filled up in one day and I had to email them for another date...Didn't expect it to move THAT fast. I asked for a Monday so that I could spend more time in Boston checking out the city =)

I'm thinking about adding BU because I've heard a LOT of great things about the program-- do you all think it's too late?

Hi everyone,

I hope you all are hanging in there for application process. Just a quick question, but did any of you receive this email from BU:

It has been 30 days since we sent you a notice indicating that your application was complete and had been referred to our Committee on Admissions for review. While our Committee is accustomed to reviewing a very large volume of applications, this year we have seen an unprecedented number of applications that have been completed early in the cycle. It appears that we will be able to interview only about 10% of our applicants this year, so these reviews are quite challenging. As a result, we are running several weeks behind.

I regret the fact that we have not been able to take action on your application as yet, but I want to assure you that we are moving as quickly as we can and that there will be no penalty for the delay in our processing.

At least it's not a rejection email, right? 😳

My first rejection... definitely stings a little bit.

3.85/36, complete 9/21

Still hoping for some love from Tufts!

This is called the 30 day email in this thread. Many, many get it. Not a bad thing.

Got my 30-day e-mail on Sep 29th, but no word of an interview yet =/ i'd really like to check this school out

Rejected today. My first. What can I say? Expectations fulfilled!

Was complete 9/22...less than 3 weeks turnaround to a decision.

Best of luck to everyone else.

II today. Complete 8/22, 30 day email 9/21. Interviewing mid-November!

Official BU reject. Complete 8/3, rejection 10/13. No 30 day. 🙁🙁🙁

Good luck to all!

Any feedback from people who have interviewed at Boston?

Interview invite today! Very excited. Complete 8/16, 30-day email 9/15.

Has anyone ever sent an "in the area" email to BU. I'm going to be in Boston late November. Do you think now would be a good time to send an email. I've been complete since 8/31 and received a 30-day email 9/30. I wouldn't think I'm rushing them or anything...I just need to save money since I'm flying in from CA.

Is there student hosting at BU? I'm thinking of contacting student hosts first (if there's such a program at BU) If not, are there any hotels that anyone would recommend? (affordable, clean, close to school would be the criteria I'd use in choosing a hotel) thanks!

Interview invite. Wasn't complete until 9/28; fast turnaround time!

This is really promising. I had submitted early September but had a problem with a reference letter head and didn't end up being marked complete till Oct 2. So maybe in a week I could hear back from them!

😳😳

First denial from BU today. Complete 9/28, got the emailed denial day 19.

Good luck to everyone else still in the running!

Can any current students comment on life at BU and on likes/dislikes there? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post! I'm really trying to learn about the school to see if it would be a good fit for me!

Interview in 8 hours. Does anybody know the post-interview acceptance rate here?
