Would CCLCM accept or consider a letter of intent post-interview?

You can do anything you want. However, I do not think a letter will have a lot of impact before they have made an initial decision on your application.

I interviewed there recently. The student interview was interesting. We talked about an obscure portion of my AMCAS experiences from six plus years ago for about half my interview.

Thats was probably to make sure you weren't just padding your app with stuff you did six years ago.

Yes, we refer ourselves as Case students, but I would err on the side of safety and use the full "Case Western Reserve University School Of Medicine" before you use any acronyms. And it would be CWRU-SOM not CWR. But I think Myuu can enlight us further.

After 13 weeks and 1 day, I finally got an interview at both programs! Interviews not scheduled until Feb but at least I'm a step closer!

I don't think there is much of a difference between OOS and IS at case since it is a private school. It would be nice if there was though. 🙂

I got rejected from VCU (IS!) and waitlisted at EVMS and today I get an II to the College Program at Case (after the regular program was the first school to reject me!). I don't know what's going on, but I figure scheduling my interview on Jan, Fri the 13th will help keep things as interesting as they have been. At least I've already gotten in somewhere....

Your Russian is pretty good, but you're missing a few declensions (need to learn your Case Eastern). And the translation of "applying" is the other definition of the word, as in "applying effort." 😀

Doubletree Tudor arms cost a bill after interview discount and it's a 4 minute walk from the med-school and they have a limousine shuttle service as well.

Honestly I got to the hotel at 9p.m. (was running super late with flight delays and definitely should've made a reservation), I told them I needed a room. All they had were rooms with 2 queen beds which normally ran for $200, and I said that's fine and asked if there was an interview discount. They wanted proof of my interview, I pulled it up on my iPhone and showed it to them and they reduced the price to $100 and the room was definitely a 4-star hotel room.

So CCLMC interviews 200 people for 32 slots! Those odds sound pretty bad. I doubt there is much wait-list movement for such a coveted program. I'm feeling a lot of pressure for this interview, especially since I have so few options at this point.

Can any current students comment on the kind of "fit" CCLMC is looking for? Judging by the forum, it seems like a lot of non-trad super-nerds, which is good because most schools seem to love jocks. My sci-fi trivia knowledge is decent, and I've just finished reviewing all 7 seasons of ST-TNG, so I'm good to go on that.

Also, one more question: What is the best route from airport to CCLMC interview? I know to start with the train to the Tower, but then just a cab?

There are obviously only three lights, but most of the people I've met from CCLCM wouldn't know that.


There's plenty of waitlist movement. As to what they're looking for, I recommend reading up on the curriculum and then based on that, imagining someone who would function well in that environment.

Back in my undergraduate years I had my classmates over all the time to eat/relax/hang out/ crash/ study.

I'm thinking, like enough living space for at least 10-15 people, closer to campus or easy to get to, nice to have a roomate(s). Is that reasonable?

Little Italy is walking distance to the school. Also, many students live in either The Triangle apartment complex (on Euclid and Mayfield) or Waldorf Apartments (forgot the street, but its at the top of a hill). Both are within walking distance

There's a really nice part of shaker heights and an 11-bodies-in-the-attic part of shaker heights. Whereabouts are you thinking?

University Circle has some places around north campus near wade park. Most of the area is apartment/undergrad dorm though.
