Hey guys. So I have an interview scheduled in late February! Super stoked! Will having the interview that late put me at a disadvantage? I know the school uses rolling admissions, so will there even be very many spots open?

I second what another poster said. Call the office and ask if there are any cancellations that you can fill in. If there isn't, you should get put on a wait list for openings. At least I did. My interview was initially scheduled for early January, and I got it moved up to early December. 👍

1) I hope everybody in Cleveland is doing okay after the volcano fiasco!

2) Per adcom's twitter:

Interviewing on Tues 1/3? Plan for snow. Also Ad Com will be reviewing interviewees from December.

👍👍

Hopefully it'll be an excellent week.

Hmm ok. I didn't even think about that...I've already bought my plane ticket and have another interview the next day as well :/ I'll just have to do my best!

Does anyone have an idea when we get a status update for the CP. I Interviewed sometime in november n didn't receive a call 🙁

Per twitter:

Breaking News: Ad Com decisions for Dec. interviewees have been entered. Updates will be found on iApply status page later this evening!

My F5 button is certainly getting a workout... :xf::xf::xf::xf::xf:

IIRC Case Western Kinda has rolling admissions...(i.e the accept people on a rolling basis, but generally there are spots still open for Feb. interviewees.)

We accept people in February.🙂:luck:

Yes. We leave spots open for the end of the season.

Stay positive! We accept a ton of people from the hold list.:luck:

Thank you! I certainly wouldn't mind one even though I am pretty set on case! Pretty sure I have a silent rejection awaiting me from there. Keep your head up! Best of luck :luck:

The CCLCM office said that they'd send out email decisions to those that didn't receive phone calls in the next week.

But since CCLCM calls accepted candidates, that means only bad news right?

Got an II today! Scheduled for Jan. 23. For those still waiting, don't give up hope!

Anyone else interviewing for the CP and/or UP on the 6th and 7th? Getting excited!

I hope I am not repeating a question already asked somewhere on this thread, but I am looking around at housing. I know housing has been discussed somewhere here. What I wish to know from any current/former students is this: do most M1's, or medical students at Case for that matter, live with roommates? Would you recommend living with other medical students during med school or not? I am trying to cut costs wherever I can. As far as living arrangements, I just need something comfortable and secure that is close to campus since most of my time will be spent in the library or elsewhere studying anyway. Thanks! 👍

Does anybody know anything about Lake Park Tower? That is one place that I'm looking at moving into and I was wondering if it's a good area or not. It seems relatively cheap, <$700 for a 2-bedroom with the Case discount. Please let me know (any current students). Thanks so much!

I feel like this is the second time someone's tried to move into East Cleveland. You really shouldn't do that.😳

CCLM students/applicants/accepteders (college track) -- what other schools were (are) you guys deciding between?

is is program a better decision, than say, an Ivy league school (assuming we want to be involved with academic medicine throughout our career). Or does the $$$ play a big role in that decision...

i haven't heard much about this program from my college advisors, so i dunno\

This is highly variable.

Again - highly variable. If you have specific concerns and have been accepted I would encourage you to call people on your contact list. A phone call to Dr. Franco may also be of benefit. Alternatively, you can PM me with specific schools for comparison.
Or does the $$$ play a big role in that decision...
I tell applicants in person (and did so today, in fact :d ), and I will tell anyone who will listen again - do not come to CCLCM for the money. This is not a sustainable reason to stay here.

...since there are approximately 100 CCLCM graduates total, and all are currently in residency programs, I would not expect many of them to be aware of our program. 🙂

just wondering, does the scholarship app for UP involve more essays?

Well, I was only referring to the forms, but it would be nice to know both actually! Thanks!

For the forms, you'll need FAFSA (as always) and NeedAccess. FAFSA does not require parental info, but NeedAccess does, if you have any desire for need-based aid. Financial aid packages usuallyl go out around waitlist domino season.

are there additional essays to write?

For perfectly ordinary financial aid? No.
