yea i think that people see the 98% OOS and think that its ideal to apply here plus they have more seats than the average school.
This coupled with the fact that GW is an extremely OOS friendly school (170 of 177 students last cycle were OOS) this encourages applicants from all around the US to apply.
Well I think the OOS thing is a little difficult to measure because its DC. Unless instate means maryland/virginia or something????
Aw this is a good point, though I imagine that there is a category for in-staters (hence the 7 who were classified as such). You can't deny it though, the OOS students has a large representation at GWU and coupled with the GPA/MCAT averages that it has it makes sense why it attracts so many applicants each year.
hey guys, my application was just "complete". How long has it been taking to hear back from their whether u r on hold or interview?
Thank you!
just out of curiosity, does GW ever hand out rejections after the initial review? or just hold/invite?
So as far as I understand it, after you submit the secondary they send you a confirmation email. I sent it snail mail 4 weeks ago but have not received an email. My file says I am complete on their website though. What does that mean?
I went to print my secondary app out and my computer froze!!!AHHH! talk about frustrating. So much BS I had to redo it. Anyway, it's in the mail now. Just gotta get those letters in..
So when are the first interview dates that people are getting?
For those that emailed secondaries, which email did you email?
applymd? or medadmit?

Has anyone else been compete since 6/29 and still on the "complete" status?
Neither hold nor interview.
For those of you who are placed on hold, how long after you application is completed does that status appeared? I was completed in 7/19 and was put on hold today (i think, i didn't check the status yesterday). That was really fast and I feel like they didn't even try to read through my application...
anyone else get place on hold immediately too?
or there are at least 4-5 days between the completion and status change?

Hey I'm curious where you saw the applymd email? I've only seen medadmit, even on the secondary itself.
edit: on the secondary website, duh. lol
Waaah, I got an interview!
Complete 7/14
Invite 7/22
Interview 9/16
Yay! First interview invite so far!
The interview day lasts from 9:15 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. The day will include informal visits with students, a tour of the Medical School and GWU Hospital, and presentations on Financial Aid and Student Opportunities. Lunch will be provided. You will receive two interviews; one with a faculty member and one with a current student. Each interview will last approximately 25 minutes. Please be aware that interviews are blind and your application has not been reviewed by your interviewers prior to the interview. We cannot provide information to you about your interviewers prior to your interview date.
To anyone who e-mailed the GW secondary:
What e-mail address are we supposed to e-mail the scanned application to? And is it true that we can e-mail the photograph of ourselves separately as a JPEG?
Not sure if this information is anywhere...the application never seemed to say you could e-mail. Any help would be really appreciated!
